Just went on a killer vacation and took some great pics and video on my Iphone,

All is good expect the videos, I believe I held the phone horizontally, but the video during playback on the phone is inverted,

I can do screen lock orientation, restart the video, and turn the phone to get the proper view, no big deal there I guess....

however when I downloaded the video to my desktop, with intent to store the video files and also transfer to SD card, the video's are upside down,

Not cool.

I'm using Windows Live Photo Gallery to import, and then using Pictures library to view,

While viewing pictures I do have the option of "flipping" inverted pics, however this option is not available when viewing a video.

Any ideas?
C'mon man,

Video lives matter.
You need a mirror.
You need a video editor. I use GoPro Studio as it's free, and works with the .mp4 files that GoPros create. There's a Rotate/Flip function that will do what you want. More sophisticated editors will rotate by degree, flip, mirror etc...
