Already donated.

But don't tell anyone. All the Trump fans think I'm a dick.
I'll donate if he doesn't get his azz handed to him tonight. If he does, I'll need the money for more ammo soon.
I saw two political admissions/supporters this weekend in a quick trip to Anchorage. One was a pickup which sported two large flags; one an American flag, the other an equal sized Trump-Pence banner.

Another vehicle had a discreet bumper sticker with "Trump Pence" on it.

I don't recall ever seeing so little enthusiasm for a presidential election.

I can assure you I am enthused about Hillary not being elected.
His staff made a comment to the effect "he does better when he doesn't over prepare..." That has me a little concerned. Taking a debate with Hillary Clinton lightly is a big mistake imo.

It's because if you hang a trump sigh, you will be branded a racist. Those are the times we live in. Believe me, there is plenty of enthusiasm.

Godspeed Mr.Trump. Winning is only the beginning. Never had an incoming president faced so many challenges. Even more so than the last failure of a president faced.

Trump has a 50 million ad campaign hitting the airwaves now.
Good luck with that. She's more likely to know the answer. She's better at giving non-answers when she doesn't have anything on a topic.

BLM is doing a fantastic job of beating white guilt on their own. Their mission is apparently to alienate everyone - including the whites sympathetic to their cause.

I've thought about that angle, but I really doubt that it is so prevalent as to virtually nix all Hillary and Trump signals.

But I'll bet you could flaunt a "Trump is a racist just as Hillary is a truth-teller" banner and few people would bat an eye.

If I hear about Roy Cooper's $@#&@ mom again and how she was a teacher, I'll shoot the tube.

Burr's ads are near non existant, the only ones I hear against what's-her-face are from a PAC.

Yeah, in OK. A place where Trump doesn't need to run ads.

But from what I've been reading, most folks haven't been seeing any. Guess he's being very very selective...

How's VA looking, is it still leaning Blue?
Trump needs to forget about his base and pander unabashedly to the Bernie crowd.

Trump will kick ash.
Hil's campaign manager, Robby Mook, on CBS this morning.

“One of the concerns that voters have about Donald Trump is that is that he doesn’t have the right temperament to be commander-in-chief; he is erratic,” he said. “We don’t know if Trump is going to show up to have a serious discussion of the issues or whether he’s going to bully. We’ve seen him bullying HIllary with some mean tweets the last few days. We just don’t know who will be there.”

“All that we’re asking is that the record be checked,” Mook said, “and so if Donald Trump lies, which he has repeatedly done in the past, that that be simply checked.”

just prepare yourself for every media outlet to talk about how Hillary won the debate.

You know its coming.

Trump didn't give specifics,
Women voters saw Trump attacking Hillary and hate him for it,
Trump doubles down on his racist rhetoric

I'm sure there will be at least 2 more narratives that I can't think of right now.
maybe hillary will stroke out,and The Donald will win by default. smile
I gave $200 before the convention , $200 right after , $200 after Sept 1st , I'll give another $200 after Oct 1st and Nov 1st. I'm not wealthy and it stings a little but nothing like living with Hillary as President.

Trump unzips his fly.

Trumps best attack has been pre-emptive - taking away their ability to create a damaging narrative by saying what they will *want* to say ahead of time.

With Mark Cuban and Mark Geist in the front row, there's another dozen scenarios that could end up with the same result...

Who needs gladiators and the Coliseum when we have entertainment for the masses like this?

Quote
This morning, reports emerged that the Republican nominee invited Mark Geist, one of the survivors of the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, to attend the debate.
I think Hildabeast will try her childish games of saying things to rile up Trump. She will fail, and will look small and weak. Trump will be ordained the winner by not falling for such nonsense, and providing more policy detail than folks expect.
Look, it's pretty simple.

Trumpers are Trumpers, Klintonistas are Klintonistas.
It's all about the undecideds now. (Let's just leave the Sanders fans out for the time being, but basically they're a problem for Clinton, a huuuuge problem.)Most all people's opinions of Illary and Trump have been based on what a whoribly biased media has been willing to show them. Tonight will be the first time many voters see these two in unprotected waters. Moderaters can skew, but Trump has shown a willingness and exceptional ability to punch right back, and tonite will be no different People seem to respond well to that. Again, who gives a chit what peddlers/liberals think, this is about the undecideds. Trump could go barking mad, howl at the moon and piss on both podiums tonight and start yelling "GFY!"But it's more likely he's going to be calm, professional, and act like an Executive, which he's been for quite a long time. You can bet he has been coached by the best that money can buy for several weeks. So has Illary, however she has never been believable and even her supporters admit she lies but justify it by saying all politicians lie. That won't work with the undecideds. It's Trumps chance to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory or not. Hope she strokes out.

Worked in a Lumber yard one Summer across the tracks. A mile from work was a little BBQ joint I thought would be good for lunch, Mister-T's, that should have told me everything I needed to know right there. I knew when I opened the door I might have made a mistake. It was the reverse of 48Hrs when Eddie Murphy walked into that Redneck Bar. But what can you do at that point, back out thru the door.? So with a deep breath, I ordered and got my food. Everything was cool, but I was a stranger in a strange land...

Trump did what he needed to do. He didn't personally attack her as a woman. He pointed out her failures without calling her crooked hillary. He was a gentleman as best he can be.
She has so much bad he could have talked about. It was killing him to listen to her lies and stupid talking points. He kept in control of himself. That was the goal tonight. He'll dial it up some on the next one.
People don't want to vote for her or she would have won last time. If he looks reasonable he'll win.

It's sad how DT can be manipulated by yanking on his ego, like a bull with a ring in his nose.

Imagine how a strong world leader like Putin would humiliate him.

LOSE the EGO, DT!! Too much is riding on this election, the most in my lifetime.

Fox is giving Hilldog the win on points. Admire Trump's restraint but it hurt him.
Debates are won and lost on demeanor; not details. Trump did OK. Not great but OK.

The bar was set pretty low for his first one-on-one. Trump has one week to fill in what he left out tonight.

And I think this was Hillary's best barrage on Trump. Don't see her getting any better.

Well, that's a glass-half-full way to look at it.... haha..... but rolling with it, yes! Very true.

He's simply going to need to prepare better, be more capable of going into some depth on the basic issues. As much as he says he's the anti-politician, tonight he just seemed like a BAD politician.

But it ain't over, and you're right, there's plenty of fertile ground yet. Going both ways, actually. Hillary left a lot on the table too.

Clearly, a 1.5 hour moderated debate is NOT Trump's strength. Maybe tonight got his attention and he'll be better prepared next one.
Posted By: Pete E Re: Trump Will Impress Tonight - 09/27/16
Saw a few of the "highlights" and Trump did not look good..not terrible, but Hilary looked sharper and more polished...

Hopefully this is just the starting point and Trump will up his game for the next two debates...

Trump will impress tonight... Well, no, he did not.
He did very well for a 2 on 1 debate. You knew it was coming. Holtz is a putz and in the tank for Killary. Taxes, birther.......W.T,F, No questions on Benghazi, e-mails or Clinton foundation. He took the high road at the end and that was the best thing he could do.
The birther stuff pisses me off. Obama's bio stated he was Kenyan. Obama's wife said his home country was Kenya. His grandmother said he was born in Kenya, and he was very slow in producing an undisputed long form birth certificate, which the Democrat former governor of Hawaii could not locate. If that doesn't raise your antenna, you have no desire to find the truth. Kinda like being a Muslim. Muslim father, stepfather, school, the most beautiful sound in the world is the call to prayer....not something your average Lutheran would say...We're just not permitted to question the black guy because he's black. Not that that's racist...Clinton tried to hit Trump on race and gender, but had the sense to back off, when it kinda fell flat. Democrat policies have destroyed blacks. Hillary is married to a serial rapist, and attacks the women he raped. Yup. That's a great stand..

Hold on ladies; what did you expect? Trump is not a politician; not a true debater either and he has the mannerisms of a Mad Magazine character but he will learn and there are two more debates to come. Remember Hiliary has been through how many of these things? Someone mentioned fifteen or sixteen of these mono e mono things.

As to moderator sympathies--they are all part of the "club"; mostly all liberal leftists and if actually conservative or libertarian would have to be covertly or they wouldn't even have their job. Nothing new here or there.

Just hope enough of the undecideds can be honest enough with themselves to vote against policy failure, deceit, illegal activity, lying, and the destructive trajectory of this country.
Why does a moderator have to be a "journalist "?

Good points. Trump did fine. He will do better at the next debate.

Funny to see the anybody but Trump crowd come out of the woodwork to rail against him again .

""Cruz would have buried her ass -I know he would have if only he had the chance "" laf ...

clinton looked like and idiot throwing her smarmy smirk in every chance she got .
She is the perfect leader for the democrat party !

I will continue to point out the truth to the young folks who aren't politic savvy -I have explained to several people how this election is so important and will continue to do so .

Piss on these "debates" rigged up by the rigged up media .
can't find one poll thats he's not ahead in this morning.

What Cruz may have done is irrelevant because he could not get elected....which is what many of us said months ago.

So who cares how he would have debated?

Nobody expected clear "winners" and losers" in this. Clinton is a skilled and accomplished liar,so in micro sound bites and a heavily scripted debate format she is going to look "good" to stupid people.

He sure left plenty of doors open to step through. wink

I believe that if I were him this would be the first thing I said[or would say next debate].

"I'm not a politician and I do not do this for a living. I don't know that I have all of the answers, but I do know that what HRC and the others have been doing isn't working and actually landed us in the mess we are in. If elected, I'll give everything I have to straighten it out"

Were you impressed, Bob?

From what I saw, this was the big league, and he had a target rich environment that could have awarded him the election, if played right.

While Trump made some very good, valid points, he didn't follow through on his swing and drive them home.

Hillary laughed him off.

Cross eyed bitch.

I wish it were otherwise, but sadly it isn't.

Sure hope he works on his game next time.
Posted By: fburgtx Re: Trump Will Impress Tonight - 09/27/16
Did I hope Trump would do better?? Sure. Honestly, this was kinda like the first Rocky movie. He was getting hit by Apollo, AND the ref was crooked, to boot (look at Holt's numbers on Drudge this am). The important thing is, Trump is still standing, and no bones were broken. There was no "knockout".

They hit him about as hard as they could. Trump still has PLENTY of stuff to hit Hillary with in debate 2 and 3.

I'm not blind. Trump didn't "win", but he took everything Holt and Hillary threw at him, and survived. Ailes can phone him up, give him a few zingers, and he should look better in 2 and 3. Not a win, but not a "defeat", either. He's lived to fight another day...

I don't believe for one second that all the email/server hacking that went on after the DNC convention was the work of "russians", IMO it was almost certainly the work of disgruntled folks inside the intelligence community.

And if I were a betting man, I'd bet that they have saved quite a few things back in reserve just for occasions like this where Trump might start to lag. They hate that Bitch and they will do whatever it takes to keep her from being POTUS.

I'd look for more leaks coming that will aid Trump by the next debate...

I don't disagree. I just hope that Trump learned a very valuable lesson that will help going forward. While there was no Candy Crowley moment Holt made his stance known by the questions not asked.

Which ones are you looking at? On Real Clear Politics, that is a conglomeration of most polls, there is only one for today, which would measure the impact of the debate and Trump is ahead on it. But most of the rest from yesterday show clinton ahead.
Posted By: Pete E Re: Trump Will Impress Tonight - 09/27/16
I think what we saw was Hilary's previous courtroom and debating experience being brought to the fore.

In Trump's world, he doesn't "debate" and if ever needed to, he probably employed an expert to do it for him..Its just how the business world rolls at that level..

Pretty much was.

Everything Hilldog said was rehearsed and scripted. As well as a lie. "Don't look at me!" was her message loud and clear.

Hillary drove home a point about DT "stiffing" an architect on a clubhouse. (Like anyone cares)

And Trump brought up the Iran deal, the e-mail scandal, her staff having to plead the 5th... and so on, but she just laughed him off and scoffed at him.
I wasn't impressed by Trump's debating skills. It doesn't matter to me.I will vote for him because the alternative is unthinkable.

I would never vote for a closet homosexual who licks the smelly crotch of her female Muslim spy.

I would never vote for a scumbag who sold out the safety and security of every American citizen with the uranium deal that paid her 135 million.

I would never vote for a c-u-n-t who did not rescue our men in Benghazi because it would have upset their slogan "General motors is alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead".

I will vote for a patriot rather than a closet homosexual,scumbag,c-u-n-t.

Do I make myself clear.

Sadly, the debate was largely immaterial to diehard Trump (or Hilary) supports, but its very important to the "Don't knows" and the "superficial" Democrats who maybe swayed to Trump or at least away from Hilary.

I am hoping that Trump is pacing himself and will show a bit more fire in the next two debates...
As will I, but do you realize that there are lots of people out there that won't vote at all if both candidates look like idiots?

Thats me!
Seems that Trump didn't do so well 4 years ago out of the gate either. wink
That was embarrassing. 2 old bumbling fools that could not put together a coherent thought. Sad day for America. I'll vote for Trump again, but if those 2 are all the better we can come up with, Heaven help us.
Trump was that way, because he was pissed as hell...

Biden got away with no inspection for wearing the wire Trump's Staff knew he'd be in there with, seeing how doped up he was on drugs and refusing to take a drug test, evident the questions had made it from Wallace's desk to Biden's Campaign People two weeks before hand so that he could be schooled on it... and Wallace claiming to be neutral and it was evident he wasn't...

I'd be pissed also.. and Wallace needs to be fired, so he can be free to go over and work at CNN, where he really belongs...with the rest of the lying POS s in the Media Leftist Elites...

Trump has morals.. the left doesn't have a single one... to include Chris Wallace...

even if this a reconstituted 4 year old thread....
Trump isn't very good at debating obviously. Good debating skills is a trait of lawyers, politicians and snake oil or car salesmen. Some people really need to be baffled with bull $hit and talked down to so they can decide on something.

.......................Regardless of any opinions about last nights debate, Trump imo did not lose any voters and Biden likely gained a few. 2 more presidential debates scheduled? Trump just about 100% of the time since his presidency began has had to defend himself and go on pure offense, time after time and time after time some more. It has become a habit with him which carried over into last nights debate. Trump needs to shut up AND THEN counter punch after LYIN BIDEN has his two minutes.

Biden, a very smooth talker last night with little to no gaffes, LIED through his teeth on every subject.
you almost gotta wonder if trump is in on this horror/science fiction nightmare US in going thru. he could have annihilated biden but chose not to. WTF?
What got me is that every time Biden started to say something Trump would interrupt. Even I can see that if he would have let Biden keep talking Biden would have screwed himself.
Biden still looked and acted like a dumb ass, but he could have showed us his ignorance and dementia if Donald would have let him.

It was hard to watch but I only got 20 min of it because From the start I saw Biden lying the same old lies, not answering questions — not that I remember any more than one that was not a lob — and making character attacks on Trump (liar, clown...).

But a huge part of the problem was Chris Wallace.

And who makes up the one-sided questions? Wallace? The commission? Can’t we find a moderator that isn’t a Demo- enabler?

Spot-on.

Trump, in any situation, isn’t going to not speak up when somebody next to him is spewing lies about him.

Exactly. If we wanted somebody who was gonna do nothing, we could've nominated Romney again. Or Jethro Bush.

Wallace picked the subjects and made up the questions plus helped Joe from being annihilated by Trump.

Good point.

Ak-, if true that’s my point. For starters, how does a bipartisan committee not do this? If Wallace, he embarrassed himself and damaged his credibility. And it’s on Fox also..

Trump was a victim of the moderator who limited his responses, limited the subject matter, and who allowed Biden to not answer the one significant question he was asked.
IDK, I'm sort of reassessing my thought on the debate. Seems like a Trump Rope-A-Dope to me now. Trump got Slow Joe to disavow the Green New Deal ...even though he is on record (on his website) as supporting it. Either you do or don't. One side loses. Same for Antifa. You know, it's an idea not a group! Right. Seems like Trump was driving a wedge between Biden's "followers". Might just work.
