Matt Holiday had not played for weeks. Broken thumb.
Lost his option today. Came out to pitch hit for maybe the last time.
The Cardinal fans gave him a long and loud standing ovation.
He stood at the plate with tears in his eyes.
And hit a home run.

He went out like a champion.

Reads more like a warrior-hero.

Literally, a man's man!

We have been waiting a long time for him to do what he's been very well paid to do.
Time to move on...

Good to know. He is married to the grand daughter of the landowner where we hunt whitetails up in the TX Panhandle. He's a great guy, very modest.

I always remember Kirk Gibson's home run for the Dodgers in the World Series. What a great moment in baseball history.
