I was going through some of my FIL's personal items and discovered this small notebook recording some of the events he encountered while in combat in Vietnam. They seem like quick notes to transfer to an official report later. He was the commander of a tank crew and saw more than his share of the war.

There are many many pages of descriptions in this tiny notebook. The more I learn about this man the more I wish I could have met him. A real soldier.

We called that our "green brain" in the Corps.

In the Navy we called them Wheel Books because they were carried by leading petty officers who were called Wheels. I still have several.

That is a great find and a treasure to your family history.
