One good thing about 'Small town, USA', we probably dont have 500 voters in this precinct, so waiting has never been over 10 min. or so.

And, if I get there to vote and there is more than 3 or 4 people ahead of me, I just walk back to the house and try again in a little while.

Voted in less than an hour. same place I early voted last Pres.erection.
More voters this time. When I left a t 10.00 one could walk right in.

The only thing ……..for early voting must use touch screen.

I would think the record early voting crowds are probably a plus for Trump, despite what the media says.

We vote at the Oyster Creek (Texas) courthouse, right across the road from my house. No need to vote early to beat the crowd, never a wait, not that many people here to have to vote.

That'd be my hope as well. Let's hope the rest of them stay home due to their 'assured' victory.

Clearly you have never voted in a D primary in Atlanta. I was like the only milk in the whole bowl of raisins.

And because I know someone will be say it, I voted for Clinton because I knew she'd be easier to beat. REALLY wish everyone else had done so in the primaries that year.

To increase voter turnout. I know it is hard to believe but lots of people don't bother to vote. We had 10% turnout in our last county election.

they had issues with the voting machines here according to local news.

News is saying 1 1/2 to 2 hours here. I am headed to town tomorrow and hope to get it done.

I heard 4th hand about voter machines in Arlington Texas switching trump votes to Clinton. FWIW

Did my duty this afternoon and voted a straight Republican ticket. Several years ago I was against the idea of anyone automatically voting a straight party ticket without considering all of the down ballot candidates. However, my attitude has changed over the years as I have concluded that anyone that would continue to associate themselves with the Demoncrap party was not worthy of my vote. It is a true shame that years past there were good candidates in both parties that had legitimate and often reasonable positions on issues. Back then if your candidate lost, of course you were disappointed, but there was still respect for the other and no expectation that they would do anything terrible as concerning the laws and Constitution. Not so any more. I am not naive enough to think that just being a Republican candidate makes one an upstanding person, but I cannot fathom why any decent candidate would identify as a Demoncrap. I would like to see more viable third party candidates to run for various offices. I will not necessarily vote for someone just because he/she is a Republican, but I will damn sure vote against anyone identifying as a Demoncrap.

How does this early voting work? I remember studying the constitution in school and can still hear Mr. Doyle saying "the first Tuesday, following a Monday in November". You used to have a darn good reason to vote absentee. Now people vote wees early. What gives?
Posted By: okie Re: 1 1/2 wait - 10/24/16
Was in Wichita Falls this AM and they had early voting at the local Home Depot the line started out the front door ran to the back of the store down two aisles then back to the front where the polls were. Lotsa white folks...
Posted By: Henryseale Re: 1 1/2 wait - 10/24/16
There is no special procedure in early voting. All registered voters just go to the polling places and identify themselves as such and vote. In Texas early voting started today. I am not exactly sure when it ends, but it is a few days before the official election day of 08 November this year. This makes it much easier for people to vote. Vote counts are not released early or anything like that. This for the most part eliminates long waiting lines and availability problems, both expected and unexpected, for voters that would otherwise only be able to vote on one particular day. Many that have business or job commitments have difficulty getting to polling places on a particular day. Early voting eliminates this problem.

Back during the primaries....
I used one of those "touch screen" abortions that my County did the "lease to own" bit, and have been nothing but problems from day one,.....the only reliable thing about them is that you can be damned certain to here the terms, "Programming issues" and "Data entry failures",...and that you will be "Assisted" with any problems you might have by someone clueless.

If you didn't hit ENTER after making a choice, and went on to
hit the next choice below, your X or check mark dropped down one hole,.....you'd never guess, Repub. to Dem. whistle

I had to figure out how to get the damn thing behaving on my own,....after asking the "assistants" to just leave me alone with the damn thing,....it was the middle of the afternoon, and there were maybe 4-5 people there to vote on 30 machines,....

Pizz on it,.... I went with the mail-in option for this last one.

We have fairly secure mail-in ballots ... TWO TRUMP votes and we simply could not vote for any Dummycrats at all.

This is just one of the small perks of living out here in the "sticks"! I may have to drive 25 miles to work, and 15 for a case of beer, but being able to walk out the door and shoot my guns is priceless.
Not to mention the fact that if I do have to wait to vote, I'll almost always be waiting with a friend. Thank You God!!! laugh
