criminals rarely drive news vans??
The short strip of crime scene tape is for news purposes only.
can't report the news without your own crime scene tape

pretty much sums up the media in my eyes.
After watching all the news vans, and reporters 'reporting' on site at the Umpqua Community College shooting....and see how they really do it....

I'll never trust a news outlet's reporting EVER AGAIN...

its as fabricated as Hollywood...
Something awful happened between the Tape and the chain-link fence?

Without knocking the grass down.

please tell us.............
Shadow on wrong side of the light.

Its a good thing the reporters were there already, so the cops could use their tripods for something to attach the Crime Scene tape to...

No surprise there, from what I have seen that is the way media operate.
Must be in their training manual, alongside how to be smarmy, deceitful, and downright crooked.
others got it first; tape doesn't go anywhere except in camera's view

Yup, dishonest and deceptive.
The thing is, when they air that footage on the air they are going to zoom in so the tripods don't show on the viewers tv screen.

thats what I thought........ crazy
All good storytelling deserves a scenic backdrop to elicit an emotional response?

Staged propaganda but it's on a small scale in the photo of the local news.

They wouldn't do this in the National news? Would they?

Correct! This is the scene which was broadcasted to the public.

Exaggerated scenes go best with exaggerated stories.

I recall years ago (maybe 35 yrs now), I watched a local news report on some shooting that involved a long gun, there was a canned image of a revolver in the backscreen.... I called the station and the news anchor actually fielded my call and we chatted about why the handgun image was displayed vs a long gun or nothing at all. flimsy excuse was given but I was glad to get a listen on it from the guy.
Is that a she or a he?
