Looks like Canada elected a [color:#3333FF]bigger fool than our Obama, didn't think that was possible..

“It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving President.

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation.

“While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for “el Comandante”.

“I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba.

“On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr. Castro. We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”

Trudeau is cut from the same cloth as Obama, the Bush's and the Clinton's, they are all globalist puppets. We had 10 years of Conservative rule with Stephen Harper and will unfortunately probably go down the same path as the U.S. did with Obama. Things will have to get a lot worse here before our version of a Trump gets elected again.

On the plus side Trudeau has nice hair and is a feminist, which qualifies him in the eyes of many to lead this country.

One last thing, I'm surprised even a liberal site like the National Post is going after Trudeau, read down a bit and you will see some interesting stuff.

Gee, I didn't realize Mr. Castro was such a revered, benevolent guy. I guess those Cubans who got out while the gettin' was good weren't being totally truthful and upfront with me years ago when they were telling me what a bunch of murdering scum him and his regime were.
Posted By: Ranger_Green Re: Trudeau on Castro.. - 11/27/16
Castro a benevolent figure? Yeah, yeah and Hitler was just going through a midlife crisis and given enough time he would have worked through it himself.
Posted By: Dixie_Rebel Re: Trudeau on Castro.. - 11/27/16
No surprise whatsoever. Trudeau is a scumbag socialist liberal just like Obama!

Well I for one, am glad to hear the sound of the toilet flush in Cuba and their people get to get rid of some of the major schitt that has been destroying their country since the late 50s....

One more turd to flush, and maybe Cuba can get back to being part of the rest of the world....

One thing I'll credit Castro for tho... he has made Cuba an old car collectors dream place... with all the cool old 50s American cars still on the road down there...
Posted By: gerry35 Re: Trudeau on Castro.. - 11/27/16
Not the first time he has embarrassed the country and unfortunately won't be the last. Two more thoughts on him:

1 )He really hates western Canada other than Vancouver/Victoria area and is trying to destroy the economy here.

2) Can you imagine him going up against tough world leaders like Putin and now Donald Trump? Those guys are going to do the political equivalent of giving him a wedgie and taking his lunch money.

Sad times ahead for this country. Western Canada separatism will continue to grow because of the Liberals and their hate of anything west of Ontario.

As trade reopens, those cool old cars will end up in containers, headed to some very smart, wleathy car collectors. Jay Leno ends up with one.

I have given a tiny bit of thought to moving to Idaho or Montana but would miss my home terribly if I left. A better idea is for Manitoba west to join up with Alaska, Idaho, Montana Wyoming and any other similar states and creating a new country. Washington can have Vancouver and Victoria, probably never going to happen though.......

I was so offended by his statement that I became physically ill!
I guess I am not a Canadian anymore as he used the phrase "On behalf of all Canadians". He never asked my opinion on the subject.
Between his revere for anything Castro and Rachael Notley's adoration of Che Gueverra Canada and Alberta in particular are doomed.

It's the only move we've got if long-term sovereignty and freedom from Ottawa's oppression is our goal. Another conservative government will only delay eastern denigration of the west for a few years until they can elect another Liberal PM. The inevitable reality is that eastern and western Canadian culture are fundamentally incompatible.

First step to independence will have to be the eradication of the NDP from Alberta.
Posted By: EdM Re: Trudeau on Castro.. - 11/27/16
I feel fortunate to have lived in Calgary from late 2004 through mid-2009 when a good government was in place and the O&G industry was booming. Times, I suspect, Alberta will never see again.
Posted By: gerry35 Re: Trudeau on Castro.. - 11/27/16
It was a big shock to see the NDP somehow get elected in Alberta. Seeing how they are destroying the province I don't think that will happen any time soon again.

2019 can't get here soon enough. Having said that I feel for the next govt. that will be tasked with cleaning up the mess left behind. That in and of itself will be painful but badly needed.
It will be a rejuvenation period where the strength of Albertans will be required full on.
Rebuilding Canada after the removal of the Liberals will take much the same strength from Canadians.

troutfly;
Good evening to you sir, I trust this finds you and your fine family well.

I too am not surprised but certainly deeply disappointed by our young leader's lack of savvy when making statements that the world views.

The only good I can see coming of it is that possibly some of his fan base will receive this as a wake up call to see just what they've helped create.

It's somewhat interesting to see the press turning on him now too - something I thought might take longer to happen, but again felt was inevitable as the ineptitude surfaced.

Anyway sir, all the best to you all as winter starts to settle in.

Arguably the biggest myth perpetrated by the left. Pre-Castro Cuba had a literacy rate higher on par with the US as well as a low cost health care system in place.

He is a national embarrassment on many levels. He was booed on Sunday during his video address during the Grey Cup game and rightly so. I hope some this political backlash against the status quo in the US spills over into Canada.

The CBC is a crown corporation owned by the gov't of Canada. It has a clear left wing agenda and makes no bones about supporting the same in all its news coverage. If that is the route it goes, it should be sold to private interest and not allowed to campaign for left wing values supported by public tax dollars.

During the last election, the CBC took every opportunity possible to aid in the election of our snowboarding ski bum prime minister.

LOL! I remember ordering a copy of the regulations and a set of paperwork necessary for taking a firearm into Canada, just to monkey wrench the operation. IIRC, it was a stack about as thick as a Chicago phonebook! laugh

The subject DID come up over after event beers, in quite a different context.
