Saw him in White Sulpher Springs, MT this summer. Great show.
I like his "Ray Wylie Hubbard and the Cowboy Twinkies" album, best. Bordertown Girl, West Texas Country Western Dance Band, Portales, all good songs. Some of them on the album ARE overproduced stinkers, though. He pretty much disowned the album, but I find it to be the only one he didn't mumble and grumble his way through...
Good stuff...my three most played of his are probably 'New Year's Eve at the Gates of Hell', 'Train Yard', and "Cooler n Hell"
I saw him several times in Houston way back when.
He plays in Texas often. Lots of good music down here. We are going to see Kevin Fowler next Friday night. Casey Donahew Jan 30.
he lives in wimberley tx.
He has been around a long time
Went to middle school with his son...
One of the greatest singer/song writers of of our time. With and emphasis on the song writing. twofish
About 1973 at Castle Creek Austin. His band opened with hard rock and roll as he "show-prepped"
back stage.
