They claim to be making them, but you can't find them.
My White Whale this month is the Weatherby H-BAR.
http://www.weatherby.com/products/rifles/vanguard/vanguardr-h-bar-rc.htmlWanted in a .223 and threaded.
Nobody can find me one.

Screw that, I have a Ruger Security Six someplace in this house. I'll find it eventually.

S&W 317 kit in 22 cal. Can't find one locally, wanted to examine one to determine if compact enough for wife. GW
I live in Iowa; it's basically impossible to find any variety in firearms in any one place.
Can't say I've searched for that one...
Chassis Howa's? Anybody able to get one of those yet?
Dave

I'm talking about actively pursuing retailers to hunt down wholesalers that have the product in question.

I believe it is not classed as a shotgun to the BATF. If it left the factory with a stock that you can shoulder you cannot cut it down. They sold them with pistol grips with a longer barrel for an overall length of 26 inches. Now with that new type of grip you can shorten the barrel and still have 26 inches overall. You cannot put a stock on that firearm without lengthening the barrel to 18.5. Something like that, don't hold me to all of this anybody with more info please chime in.

Had been the new Browning Sweet Sixteen A-5, however in the last couple of weeks they seem to have become widely available.
I've been waiting on the Kimber 84L in 35 Whelen for quite a while.
Ruger used to be bad about press releasing new wares looong before they were available.
I have looked for a Howa Alpine at the local shops with no luck. I know I could order one though.
Here's one the Howa versions;

I've decided that when Ruger announces a new variant of #1, they start planting walnut trees for the stocks...
This year announced they would build a #1 in .44 mag, which is an extremely practical, desirable model. So what do they do? Build 60 of them
Screw that, I have a Ruger Security Six someplace in this house. I'll find it eventually.
If that's the first one you've lost in your house, you are lucky. I've lost several the last few years. I lost one between a gun show and home recently. It was found within a week.
Clark: it is pretty much SOP in the gun Biz to create the demand BEFORE they create the supply...especially this close to he SHOT show....
Trust me.
I used to be a Trained Professional.....
Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt and 45 acp.
A CZ in .17 Hornet and a SP101 in .327 Federal.
No gun shops in my area have one of either, and say there are none in the system.
The SA-08 Deluxe in 28 gauge might as well not exist either.

Did you try Whittakers?
I search my local guns stores first, then off to Gun Broker.
Tikka CTR 6.5 CM 24" barrel in left hand config.

Ha! I've got a NIB SS ADL .243 stashed somewhere. You'd think the box would make it easier........
Fireball2 is looking for a Sauer 100 in 222 if anyone knows where one is.
Just went on the wish list.
Had been the new Browning Sweet Sixteen A-5, however in the last couple of weeks they seem to have become widely available.
Browning screwed the pooch on that one.
It was supposed to be shipping in late summer last year. By the time they started shipping them hunting season was closed in 90% of the country.
I dont see that stock being worth $450 to me so if I was in the market I would get the threaded weatherguard version for sub $550 and restock per whim.
If all the RC's are threaded then hinterlandoutfitters.com and shootersexpress.com both have them in stock under $900
P.s Shooters express shows the threaded vanguard weatherguard h-bar in stock for $529
Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt and 45 acp.
At least one distributor had one. It arrives Friday. $810 out the door.
A pistol called Howdah 45/410 Pistol. It is a rifle double barreled 410/colt 45. Always sold out...
Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt and 45 acp.
At least 8 of 'em on GunBroker right now around $800+

I have requests out to a few retailers but didn't try SAS yet. I'll PM today if nobody in MT is finding one.

Around here all you can get are Walmart grade guns.
Every single shop owner will say that this market just won't support nicer firearms. Everything is $500 or less.
If it's new & especially, debuted at S.H.O.T., you won't see any for at least a year.
It's still a great country...........

26.37" OAL, never had a stock attached. Under NFA, it's simply a "firearm"; not a handgun, shotgun, or OAW.
Yeah, I want one, too.

I've been trying to see a Kimber K6 in person and have had no luck so far. I'm guessing the Sig 220 in 10mm will be the same.

You could try Reeds in Walker, MN. They have always found stuff for me that no one else has been able to. They ship free to FFLs as well.

In spite of the cost and $200 tax BS, I'd rather have a 12.5" 870 or 14.5" 500 with a full buttstock. Pistol grip shotguns look cool, but in any real situation where I'd want a short shotgun, I also want the accuracy, speed, and controllability that comes with the third point of contact. My two Pesos.....

I can't seem to find a NIB Rossi youth 22/410 combo. Saw them for years and never thought about them but now that I have a 4 year old and another who is 2 behind him, I want to get one. Everyone seems to be out of stock.
It's not the guns that I'm having trouble finding. It's the cash.

clark,
my local shop has the shockwave and an 870 just like it bad azz mofo's fo' sure
CZ75 SP-01 Shadow 2 9mm
Sig P320 X-Five 9mm
Canik TP9SFX. Ordered one through Cabela's on Saturday. I'll believe it when I get the shipping notice.
Nothing wrong with the Rossi 22/410 youth combo. That was my younger son's first gun. Very light and easy for a kid to hold. The 22 barrel with a 2.5x scope had no problem picking off squirrels.

I don't see a non-threaded version on Weatherby's website. Pretty sure all Hbars are threaded but I was wrong one time.

Who else makes a break action 22 that's reasonable in price? The Chipmunk rifles are total PITA to load, especially for a beginner.
I mean how bad can they really be? Not much to them.

Not according to the website. Click on description.

I did you a favor and didn't find that Mossberg Shockwave. That's as ugly as Chelsea Clinton.
Yes. I'm aware what their website states.
It has come close to costing me $1600.

399 for a mavrick or an 870 shockwave
That's pretty damned misleading.
399 for a mavrick or an 870 shockwave
Now I'm puzzled.
Dave
That's pretty damned misleading.
If the product code has a T in it, it's threaded.
Weatherby's site doesn't show the HBAR's being made without threads, but if you look at the product code on other retailers you'll see they don't have the T. And if you call Weatherby they'll tell you they did make them not threaded.
It's pretty gay all around.

This is pretty similar to the discussion me and Clark had the other day. The full package looks pretty and all but I don't see the b&c stock being worth the $350-400 premium. This is mainly due to the fact their stocks don't fit me well and I would be ordering a replacement anyways. Barreled action and add a chassis of choice or the weatherguard series which is a few hundred cheaper and fairly readily available.
I too am considering one now.
We need thread for old guns we can't find!

I haven't looked at the new ones but my son's isn't bad at all. It's an early one that did not have accommodations for scope mounting. I drilled & tapped the rear of the barrel, installed a one piece Weaver base and long eye relief 2.5x scope. A regular scope will not work since the hammer is too high. I believe the newer ones are more scope friendly.
We've never shot decent ammo through it. I might just have to dig it out tomorrow and shoot some groups at 25 yards with CCI SV.

Yep. I meant the model 69 in 44 mag. Guess I might have miss typed it. Some folks like me are just a little dyslexic.
This, not much I'm interested in born after 1964. Cept a couple 99s in rare calibers from the end of the run
