Friends, I posted this down in the .22 Forum, but I thought some of you folks on the Hunter's Campfire might like to see it, too.

This has been a GREAT .22 rifle and it's been my go-to .22 for many years now. YES, I shoot it!!! The rifle is both beautiful and it shoots wonderfully.

A Kimber of Oregon, sort of a one-of-a-kind with exibition +++ grade walnut; the grain and the fiddleback end-to-end on both sides is crazy.

Anyway, I kind of like it.

Hope you enjoy seeing my .22 rifle ....

God Bless,

Steve

Incredibly so. YES, holy Crap, it's a shooter.

For several years, I test-fired new Kimbers off the line a couple of days a week, as well as running my jewelry store.

The few Mannlicher-stocked rimfires they made was unbelieveably accurate. The center-fires in .221 Fireball shot well enough and that all went to crap in the .222s, .223s, 6X45s, 6X47s and .257 Kimber.

I don't know why ... It just was.

Yeah, my friend, this is a real tackholer.

Heavy for a rimfire. I haven't weighed it, but eight-pounds would not surprise me.

At least in my mind, it is the perfect rimfire rifle.

Blessings,

Steve

SandBilly.

KofO made a very, very limited Brownell Series, like Lenard Brownell. I got to meet Lenard and we spent most of two days together ... he was one heck of a great man and a true artist.

The Mannlicher stock and bolt handle were the signature of the Brownell Series.

After the series was finished, we had ONE Mannlicher bolt left and I high-graded this damnably killer piece of wood. Never seen the like of the wood, so it simply had to be mine. Cost me a few bucks, but I've always considered it was worth double

Later, we put this puppy together a few months later and it totally exceeded my expectations in every possible way.

Steve

Thanks my old friend.

Yeah, it's going to be a bugger but my wonderful wife of 53-years and my best hunting partner is almost totally crippled. She can lift or handle perhaps three-pounds with her left arm.

Obviously, something has to be done. And we're going to go for it.

She's come VERY close to dying twice in the last four years. We are due some GOOD LUCK for a change.

Blessings,

Steve

That is really nice. Thanks for sharing.

Ken Howell worked with those folks some and he had one of theirs that looked a lot like that one - serial # was KEH1. Seems like his kids used it for a hunter safety or shooting class up in Prescott. A few jaws dropped.
Posted By: Crockettnj Re: A Great .22 Rifle - 02/17/17
WOW

I really like that.

Nice gun, and best of luck with the surgery/recovery.

Steve my friend, I noted the beautiful rifle, but more importantly I noted Karen's surgery. I hope she has every success with it. Please let us know how well she makes out as we'll be looking forward to the good outcome.

Sh1t, this is totally ugly.

I've taken apart maybe a thousand (or more), mooses, elk, caribou, deer and antelope, but when it's a wife of 53 years, it's different ... a lot different.

Holy Sh1t.

Prayers for successful op & post op for Karen.

Tks for sharing that beautiful rifle with us ruger and marlin owners

My thoughts, exactly, Steve.

You know the cops say you should use an engraving pencil thing to put your drivers license number on the receiver, just to discourage the thieves, you know? Maybe on the stock, too, just in case (LOL).

That is a gorgeous work of art, and what a story to go with it. Thank you for posting. Best read in a long time.

Karen is in our prayers, as are you through this time.

Steve, would you please be so kind as to post a target or two so we can continue slobbering on our screens.
