I just turned on the news to find out that today was "Immigrant Day", or some such thing. America was in chaos because no illegals came to work. I was out all day...even ate lunch at a Meskin Restaurant and never noticed.

I went to Walmart, which was open but they really don't seem to use immigrants down this way.

I was in Storm Lake, Iowa yesterday. If you don't know, Storm Lake is nearly half immigrants,
the schools over half. I saw nothing different from any other day.

I wonder just why an illegal would want to tell the world they are breaking the law?

pretty sure that was yesterday, I saw somewhere that today is national drink wine day. Wife was all excited about that, shes been training all year for it apparently.

My wife and I headed down to the pub here in Quito to learn that Sunday was election day here in Equador so no alcohol served from Friday afternoon through Sunday. Thankfully, we fly out 1 AM Sunday.

It was a day LEGAL immigrants would walk out to show what life would be like without immigrants. The ILLEGALS won't walk - afraid to lose job, become obvious.

According to Fox News, only 300 people showed up in NYC to "celebrate" the day. In a city that big, with that % of immigrants, legal or otherwise, that ain't much.


Sounds like it flopped big time. I didn't notice any deficit of "immigrant, non-English speakers" in the Amazon warehouse where I work. They still showed up, still didn't work worth a damn, and still didn't speak any English.

I have a couple of legal immigrants that work for me. They showed up and put in a full day.

Awoke to the sounds of leaf blowers from 2 directions, early afternoon saw the neighbors housekeepers leaving chattering away, they seemed happy enough. I guess they didn't get the memo. Or maybe it's because the flyers seen on the net were all printed in English?

I had to go to the Social Security office to get a statement from 2016 yesterday and to my surprise the place was full of able bodied millennials, immigrants, and two old worn out white guys (me being one of em). Several Orientals jabbering some crap I couldn't understand and a couple of black fellows talking about what a wonderful country Uganda was.

Only reason I can think of for em to be there would be to apply for some kind of gubment assistance.
None of the millennials looked "disabled" to me but I'd bet you a dollar to a doughnut they had a note for some quack saying they were.
