Pick him up Saturday.
You're both going to have a lot of fun.
Nothing like a puppy thread!

AWWWWWWW...
Nothing better than puppy breath.
Got a name yet?
Good Stuff
A BIG +1
What's his name? Good looking dog.
Don't have a name yet. He's got to name himself after he's been around a couple of days.
His sire weighs 105 lbs and he's not fat.
He's probably going to be a big boy.
fair enough...maybe it will be "B@stard" as in "Don't chew on that you little B@stard!!". Have fun with him...new puppies are awesome.
Tell us about the other pup in the pic.

BTW, this is a solid approach. My buddy's dad gets a new pup, gets her home, takes her out of the truck, sets her down, she proceeds to run over to their daisy patch and take a [bleep]....and that is how Daisy got her name.
Good looking pup right there
Reince, since he'll be your Chief of staff.
Good lookin' pup. Hope you don't have new carpet..🤔😁
my first guess for a name is going to be "housewrecker"
105 pounds....
I don't know about the other pup. There's a litter of 8.
I went out and looked them over this morning. It's hard to tell one from the other. The sire is very light colored and the dam is reddish. All of the pups are a bit in between.
Good folks breeding them,..a young man and his wife who keep them inside the house. The female is a couch potato but the male likes the outdoors.
I showed up wearing my now ever-present overalls and the young man said the big sire loved to hunt. Asked me if I was planning on hunting the pup.
I told him, "no",...he's just going to be my buddy.

lol,...probably for a while. But both of the parents were in the house when I got there. They're both pretty laid back.
"what do you fee that dog?"
"my couch"
Great looking pup. Last one I was named Buster
Man you're in trouble now. Just kidding.
They start off like this.
Then they start to grow up to this.
And end up like this.
Nice.
So you got a yellow and SamO got a white!
There is nothing in the world cuter than a fat lab pup. My Ranger II was a yellow lab (Ranger the First was a black lab). If yours is consistent with the breed he'll be a little hellion for the first two years and then settle down into a solid and loyal companion.
Excellent choice there.
lolo,...that'll be fine.
Funny thing,.....I was coming back from looking at him this morning and this ford pick up pulled up next to me at a light.
There was a big blond Labrador sitting in the passenger seat like he was used to it.
He was just perched up there totally dignified,...looking straight ahead.
I 'spect mine will end up like that.
I got tired as hell of people here while back. I'm countin' on a big blond Labrador to be an improvement in the companion catagory.
Nice.
So you got a yellow and SamO got a white!
That dog Sam found is what got me to pull the trigger.
If Sam wasn't on the other side of the country that dog he found would be mine today.
I had to go get me one after seeing that one he was looking to pass on to somebody.
What a sweetie!! Congrats..
Mom and pop. They're both pretty good sized dogs.
Yeah, congratulations. That's a cute puppy.
Nice.

Same her[the instant I saw it this morning].
Have you had
Labs Chews-a-lot before?
Looks like he'll be a fine companion.
Congrats!
Back when I was a kid a black lab wandered up and I kept him for a few years before he died.
I've never had a pup, however.
Congrats B!
Sam's dog could have been shipped.
PEGGED!

Yeah, this. Maybe you should just name him "No".
Get ready for a fun ride!
12lbs when we got Raven at 9 weeks and now 70lbs at 11 months
Watch your $200 huntin' boots around that little four legged shark!
I've never had a pup, however.
Like I said, you're in trouble now.
I nick named mine "Destruction Dog" when he was a puppy. He destroyed everything in his path. Look at the bright side, it'll only last about 2 years or so.
It'll be worth it though in the long run.
I got tired as hell of people here while back. I'm countin' on a big blond Labrador to be an improvement in the companion catagory.
You are 100% correct!
Make sure you are the one to feed him, it is essential in the bonding process.
I think I spoiled mine a little to much.
"What Now?"
A BIG +1
+2!
Congrats 'stoe.
Enjoy your new pal to the fullest.
If you crate train him and watch him everything will be fine,Raven has not destroyed a single thing...keep her supplied with plenty of hard chew toys
Wife and I are being adopted by a GSP pup in Mid-April. Counting the days
Black dog in a lightless room laying directly enroute to bathroom when I had to pee. Tripper Lab - about 3 days after I got him.
Make sure he has plenty of stuffed toys. They seem to thrive on them.
My guy has a huge box full.
Pick him up Saturday.
Had this 10YO guy since he was a pup and seem to recall reading that the blond/yellow labs were more affectionate than the blacks. Certainly held true as I've had a couple of black guys.
NEVER EVER leaves my side.
Fantastic! Makes my heart swell.
I put a deposit on a black litter last week.
Nice Bristoe! Happy for ya man!
Ain't nuthin' like a puppy or set of nice tits to put a smile on a mans face. Don't matter how old, or young, you are.
Awesome! Nothing beats a dog, they work their way into your heart.

Mine has never chewed or destroyed anything either. He knows what his stuff is and if it's not his he doesn't mess with it. The first couple of nights I had mine I slept in a recliner with him on my chest so he could smell my breath and bond. When he stirred I took him outside. He's never made a mess in the house either. Kenneling is a big thing. You will need different size crates as he grows.
I've pretty much turned into a home-body over the past few years. I get in the car and take a road trip a couple of times a year but other than that I just like to hang out around the house. No particular reason. I just do.
That's one reason that I thought it was a good time to get a dog. I probably would have gotten one before but I would have always been away at work and wouldn't have had time to look after one like I want to.
He'll get plenty of attention.
Nice pup Bristoe!
Unfortunately we had to put our 13.5 year old Jenny down 2 weeks ago. Damn tough deal.......
She was an amazing dog. If your new pup is half the dog, you'll be in fine shape.
I'll pray your wife rescues that pup from you. Hey, you got a possum already.
Pick him up Saturday.
I think that hound dawg done found hisself a gret home.
Congratulations, Bristoe
You done good.
My old Reggi dog (named for Reggi in the Archie comic books...long story). RIP old friend.
Oh, and another +1 on the crate. Train him with it. Or lose a bunch of stuff around the house when you leave.
You'll have another dog soon enough.
My experience with labs... Males chew, and females dig. The male black lab I had would sleep in my dirty clothes basket as a pup and would chew the buttons of my shirts. As he grew, he found his way under the house had torn all the insulation off of the duct work. Then as a young man, he chewed the control handles off an excavator on a trailer in the driveway and chewed up the seat. That bastard cost me several thousand dollars. The yellow female I had was great too. She would dig tornado bunkers in the back yard for me to we could keep safe in the event of one coming. Both shed like crazy in the house, but they loved like no other dog. Best pets I've ever had.
I could vacuum everyday behind my big yellow lab and still be pissin' in the wind.Shop vac is a must.
Yup. We had a Roomba... but it couldn't keep up. The amount of hair daily clogged it up.
Get a stripping comb and go outside and gently comb the pup out regularly. He (or she) will love it and everyone will be happier.
Bristoe, you've done yourself a great favor. Enjoy.
Pick him up Saturday.
Aww hell you've got my Lucy's little cousin there.
The heart of a Lab is a mighty thing and we are lucky indeed to make the association. Good on ye.
Our last yeller dog.
Had to put that poor old thang down 3 years ago.
We now have 3 labs in our house.
The baby is 5 1/2 months chocolate male and is my sons. He weighs 60# and should finish around 100 #'s. He shows great promise for field trialing and hunting but his main job is to grow up with our son and the 2 of them are inseparable.
We also have my 6yo blm who is an absolute bird hunting machine and is the most loyal and affectionate dog I have ever seen. He loves everyone but never leaves my side.
And we have my wife's 8yo ylm. Ex show dog who hunts fairly well for his huge size but is now just Momma's lap heater and constant companion.
They are all very different personality wise but we are blessed with each of them.
Having 3 labs in the house means we are vacuuming daily and brushing them atleast once a week and typically twice.
All 3 are crate trained which is a godsend and it takes work to keep them all but I wouldn't change it for the world.
One thing is for sure, when you get home, they don't give a hoot how bad your day was. They will always have a smile and wagging tail to greet you. Wish my wife loved me that much!
This guy has absolutely stolen our heart, our 5th BL in our 32 years of marriage.
If I go outside and don't get in my daily driver he'll be with me or else.
We got lucky that he ended up fairly long and lean but not huge as he is our first "indoors" lab.
Yeah, that ottoman is his now.
And definitely agree with the crate deal with an inside dog. When sleeping, he's either on the ottoman, the couch with wife or in his crate[on his own].
Nerf has come out with a great line of hard rubber dog toys[balls]. About the only toys he hasn't shredded. He usually can pop the squeaker but otherwise he just wants me to tug away and then throw.
Congrats on your new buddy!
They are truly God's greatest gift to us.
Hope you have many happy years with your new best friend.
Virgil B.
No hard toys for my big YLM as he just doesn't show any interest in them. OTOH he has a huge toy box filled with stuffed animals big and small. Always has one in his mouth.
