...yeah legalization of dope has helped our town and county so much, with all the upstanding citizens from elsewhere we've all seen relocating here...
Come on!
Sf--you can't blame all your problems and cynicism on Californians and not enough of a war on drugs.
Pal,
I didn't mention Californians by name... but if you haven't read my thoughts on folks from your state, let me clarify it...
I travel a fair amount around your fair state....most of the people not located in the metro Bay Area, Metro Sacramento, or the LA area, are great people... I have no issue with them at all...
Same as the folks up in Washington once you get out of Puget Sound.... or away from Spokane...
The entire West Coast has some islands of large metro areas, essentially 4 of them... Potland OR, San Fran, LA and Seattle.
If they were taken out of the mix of the three west coast states, and made into their own one state ( say Liberal Wackoland), the picture of the West Coast would be totally different....
Legalization of Marijuana in Oregon, has brought my county a bunch of undesireables, but since CA has legalized it, most of those folks from CA have no reason to stay here....ain't much of a local market, when everyone is growing it themselves.
Most of the gangs we have around here in that industry are from as far away as the east coast... New York, Boston and New England, even Miami, DC, Philly, Jersey, Atlanta...Chicago, Houston and a bunch of medium sized cities....
Some of mafia style professionals, which give no trouble and hang a very low profile to not cause attention to themselves.
Many of us really don't have problems with this folks being here... and they actually do add to the county economy.
The ones that are causing problems are usually the 20 something crowds that are out to prove what a badasss they all are, and anti Establishment. They don't hang a low profile and are out to actually garner attention it seems...
The "professional" ones are older and are slowly eliminating the 'competition' and the attention....
Legalization brought this into our town and county like a meteor... blink and it was here....
But if other states start legalizing dope all over the country, they will disappear just as fast as they came up...
Living in the better part of town, most of my neighbors are CA transplants, real good people....
if you live in the crappy parts of town or the county, those are usually life long locals...
its not really a growth issue... as soon as dope has a reason to leave.... well most of the problems will leave with it...
