... well maybe. At least that is what Senator Chuck Grassley, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is saying. There is speculation that either Kennedy, Ginsburg, or Breyer will retire. If so, the left / Democraps / socialists / progressives will go bat-schit crazy ..... especially since it will take only a simple 51 vote majority to confirm a new Justice. Say what you want about Trump, but being able is re-shape the Supreme Court with a Conservative majority will pay dividends for decades. (Just imagine if it was the other way around .... and Hitlary was doing the re-shaping!)

We can only hope. I hope that if it happens, the Republicans in the Senate don't dick around trying to look "fair".
Wouldn't it be awe-tastic if all three of them announced resignations the same day SCOTUS issued their last decision for 2017.

I think I'd have MSNBC on 24hours a day for the whole Summer. Rename it the Schadenfreude channel.
Ginsberg said if Trump won she was moving to New Zealand.

If she would have retired a few years ago, she would have been guaranteed that her replacement was another her.

Why did she stick around until after the election risking a Trump replacement?

She knew Hillary was going to win, she wanted Hillary to replace her, but why Hillary and not Obama?

Maybe she wanted Hillary to replace her with Obama?
Cruz has stated publicly a few moths ago that he has on good authority that Kennedy will retire this summer.
While President Trump is in office (I love writing that!) the only way Ginsburg is leaving is feet first. No way she'd allow President Trump to pick her successor.

My personal opinion (with little backing), is that Ginsberg is a serious closet racist. She didn't want Obama replacing her, and was waiting for Hillary.

She'll never retire with Trump in office.

If that Muslim loving traitor were ever appointed to the SCOTUS I'd be the one moving to New Zealand.

Nah. They just need a constitutional lesson in the 2nd Amendment.
Kennedy has long wanted to retire and was waiting for a conservative in the Whitehouse and last summer Thomas said he was ready to retire also. The court commies are going to try and wait out Trump.

As usual, the comments are very entertaining.
There is speculation that Breyer may retire if he's going to be in the permanent minority. He doesn't seem to be the SJW that the three other leftists on the court are and may not wish to spend his last days writing pointless decents. Ginsburg will die in her chair resisting constitutional law. Her arrogance in waiting for "her" I hope is a bitter pill.
Intelligent and sane individuals realize when it is time to turn certain pages in their lives - regardless of any personal ideology or love of a role. In one or two cases on the SC, I feel that this will happen soon. Where an individual lacks such faculties, it is difficult to predict any sensible behavior.

And colon cancer. And heart problems.

Only the good die young.
I don't want a conservative justice, I want a Constitutional justice!

Wouldn't it be great if Trump replaced all justices with Judges that would follow the Constitution and not their party.......
I hope NZ rejects her. They don't need that bitch down there.
From your lips to Gods ear!!!

After the grilling Gorsuch just went through, I don't know who would even want the job. Hopefully there are a couple more cut from the same cloth as him.
Ginsburg needs to be given notice that she must retire or be removed for incompetency. Amazing that no attorney has filed grievance against her for her political statements and falling asleep during trial.

That seems to be, and seems to have been, most of their MO for the past two decades. I can even see President Trump throwing a bone to the left by way of a middle-of-the-road to left-leaning appointment if he gets the opportunity for multiple appointments in an attempt to look fair, pacify the left and work the "art of the deal". I hope I'm wrong.
Ginsberg is either going to try to wait until Trump is gone, or have health/natural death make the decision for her. Kennedy is the likely retiree. Replacing him with a true conservative, as he was often a swing vote, would be huge.
You know, with all this "hinting" about a replacement...

Just think of the conspiracy theories that would ignite if Ginsburg passes away in May.

Cities would burn. They're all Democrat cities, but they would be on fire.

Downside?
I heard a report several months ago, that Ginsberg wanted to retire 2 years ago. The Hillary camp was informed.
They got in touch with her. The aged, senile old judge was afraid that Obama would not appoint someone radical enough.

Back then, it was a given that Hillary would win, so Hillary told her to wait and even told her who the replacement would be. Good Lord is it scary to think of who the Vile Harridan would have picked.

Too bad the plot got foiled. Liberal geniuses, they over-thought the whole affair.
Paralysis by analysis.

Two choices for Hillary, the second amendment is dead.
It will be Kennedy.

That is just it.

She did not make it.

Ever watch Weekend at Bernie's.

The libs. just found a way to hide it better.
I trust Chuck Grassley but you know the liberals are going to out up one hell of a fight over another "originalist" being nominated to the Supreme Court.

kwg
"F" the libs - and the jackasses they rode in on!
It's our turn - after how many years?
I'd just like to see Ginsberg drop dead.

Whatever it takes.
No problem with any of that great entertainment and urban renewal.

I could see Trump nominating someone who leans the way the retired judge leans. He has a majority now, he'll keep the majority that way, but I could see him keeping it somewhat balanced. He is NOT your typical politician.

ending up with a SC who leans conservative, but has a tendency to be central. Replace extremes on both ends with more central but lean that way
still hoping Ginzberg strokes out and just simplifies things. I read some months back, that Kennedy is really looking to bow out now.
Two solid conservatives on the court, along with Gorsuch, would throw a big monkey wrench in the liberal agenda for at least a generation.

Nope, fake news.

I thought it was Thomas who wanted to retire. Hope not , he seems to be quite Scalia. Hasbeen
I really don't want to see Thomas retire, but if he wants to it would be better to retire now and let Trump nominate his successor than wait for who ever comes next.

Ginsberg and Breyer, Kennedy and Thomas hopefully in that order. Thomas is a good Constitutionalist with a brilliant mind. Ginsberg is a liberal POS washed out old bag. Let's get this court stacked with young strict Constitutionalists. Let's stop this decline NOW so that my children never suffer another obongo the magnificent negroid.

Passes away of natural causes and a pillow over her face and a knife in her back. It'd be a fitting end for one that continuously stabs the Constitution in the back and no autopsy necessary.

The bonus would be the burning of cities.
Thomas is not set to retire!!!!

Fake News!!!

Set up a quail hunt for her with Dick Cheney but with his gun loaded with 00 vs #8's
Question, if a Justus is ill, and can not 'work", report for duty, can the judge stay on the court till they die?
I will believe it when I see it (another pick by Trump)... I fell certain Ginsburg would never retire unless a commie replacement was evident.
Gingsburg and Breyer are both on record as stating they won't retire until a Democrat is back in the WH.

Kennedy has made various references to retirement coming sooner than later.
I'm still liking the odds of Gingsburg dying in the next 2 years. God willing
I'll ask again, could Ginsburg stay on the court even in a hospital bed? Not "working", just blocking a new appointment.
I think she could get away with it.
yes I believe so, it's a lifetime appointment, I seem to recall a news story years back about someone being brought in on a hospital gurney for a vote.
Statistically speaking based on age and gender she can expect to live about 7.7 more years, so outliving the current senate and even the administration is a good bet.

She has had a history of cancer (of course so do a lot of folks at age 84) , but apparently works out regularly so not being a life insurance guy it doesn't look promising for her seat.
