If you have not seen this yet you should. If it's a dupe then my bad.

Youtube to ban many firearms related videos.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, a gun industry lobbying group, called YouTube’s new policy “worrisome.”

“We suspect it will be interpreted to block much more content than the stated goal of firearms and certain accessory sales,” the foundation said in a statement. “We see the real potential for the blocking of educational content that serves instructional, skill-building and even safety purposes. Much like Facebook, YouTube now acts as a virtual public square. The exercise of what amounts to censorship, then, can legitimately be viewed as the stifling of commercial free speech.”

Perhaps one good thing may come of it, especially for the basement crowd. laugh

"InRange TV, another channel devoted to firearms, wrote on its Facebook page that it would begin uploading videos to PornHub, an adult content website."

I'd seen that "rescue" of gun vids might come from an unlikely source. I assume this porn hub is that source. I didn't look at that article though. Two things I can see that are downsides...it equates guns with porn. Another thing is that kids cannot now source gun vids since it's an adult website. That's a shame because I know a lot of kids were looking at gun videos all the time. Otherwise, kudos to the porn site for hosting gun videos.

Youtube is owned by Google and as such is a private concern and can vary the company policy as they wish...if there are fiscal ramifications to their decision then that is their lookout.

Meanwhile, bet we can still find how too videos on youtube for mixing up doper grape drank, bathtub abortion tips and how to build a damn bomb. crazy
Too true gunner, too true

Leaves me shaking my head that half this country is so f’ed up

But when you look at voting patterns it’s largely an urban vs rural divide

Little wonder that an outdoor site like this tends to run conservative

It’s what we’ve “gut” known for a long time

Living stacked up on one another like sardines in the cities leads to mental health problems

I hate it for those folks but they pose a danger to the rest of us now besides just themselves
Some are porting them over them over to pornhub

YouTube is banning gun videos. Now they’re reappearing on Pornhub.

This might cause quite a dilemma for some here. Some others probably already have logins.

Will still be able to learn how to make meth on youtube, though

As rost495 pointed out in another thread, the reloading part is kinda out there, the rest of it could likely be inspired through legal advice to help them from being involved in possible future law suits.

I could see them getting in trouble if some kid shoots up a school with an AR in full-auto mode and it's tracked back to him learning to convert his AR on a Youtube site...

You gotta think..................

Youtube is in it for the money and there is a lot of advertisement dollars involved in gun related videos......

They are cash hogs, they are not going to drop *all* gun related videos...
Now this is something the NRA could lend its power, influence and money to. As has been parroted for years.

Youtube is part of a private company and can choose whatever content they want to host. I have no problem with that. The government does need to look at Alphabet INC though.

Seems to me that someone with some balls and big money could purchase the the content or offer to host the videos that Youtube has abandoned.

With a content specific host website I feel certain that the that the owners could monetize that content via ads like so many others and/or require a very small annual membership fee that most folks that are serious about their passion would be willing to pay IMHO.

Just got a message from a guy who posted a lot of varmint hunting videos on YouTube. They were all deleted and his account closed this morning for banned content and being too graphic.
