My wife and I were going through Smiley yesterday and she wanted to see their high school where she got her first teaching job after graduating from college 46 years ago. The school district was so happy to get her, they found her a completely furnished house with all utility bills paid for $50.00 a month. This sign was at the entrance to the school parking lot.
Good for them. Make a liberals head explode.
Nixon is close to me down here.
Shame they had to put the warning in Spanish as well.
I think most every small town school west of 277 has a similar sign.
Well, you can bet some strung out wanna be gun toting druggie ain't shootin that place up! powdr
Nice to see that there are places with common sense.
Smiley would be my hometown and current residence.
We voted at the school board meeting. Over 400 votes for arming, 2 for no.
Guess who voted NO??
As long as it's more than just signs. Fake alarm signs are dead cheap, and just as useless.
They not fake. My mom is a teacher!!
It really should be in Polish so more people will understand it in that area.
At least 172 Texas school districts have armed staff, maybe more by now since this story is old:

God bless 'em........ We need more school districts like that.
Finally, a common-sense response to active killers.
This is true. My wife works in Texas as an educator and there have been several school districts in Texas that have approved of this. Oh yeah, I believe they should have more educators carrying.

You could call it "Czechs and balances " (dead weight)
That's great and has been legal in Texas for quite a while. The problem is the law lets each school make the decision whether or not to "allow" armed school teachers and staff. The Democrat run school districts in Texas will NEVER allow school teachers and staff to be armed. I live in a very conservative school district but enough of the school district officials that make the decision to arm teachers and staff are liberal imports from the big Democrat run cities.
Our school district has 5 "resource officers" covering over 40 schools.
Our school district has some staff that is armed. But they keep it secret. We know there are some but we don’t know how many or who they are. My wife does work at our local school here in the town of West but she does not carry. She doesn’t even have a CHL. I’ve been on her azz to get one, not for school but just because of her traveling for training and such. In my opinion, everyone should have one that has the ability to get one.
Oh yeah, by the way, the town of West that’s nearby is made up of lots of people with German/Czech heritage.
I think the School District Of Harrel Tx was the first to arm teachers back in the ‘eighties after a school shooting off in another state. The MSM went wild over it for awhile.
The school is out in the country North of Hwy 287 between Vernon and Electra as I recall.
