Didn't watch the game, but tracked the score online. I did watch them play Florida at the beginning of the season. My recollection is the offensive line was Swiss Cheese then. Not too interested in today's bowl games. There are some mildly interesting ones tomorrow though. Oklahoma St. vs Aggie might be interesting. Look forward to Saturday.
My Aggies will be lucky to get past Okie St, the way they’ve played this year. Jimbo Fisher better get off his ass and recruit a QB with a brain and a couple of top running backs. And hopefully a DF like the Wrecking Crew from yesteryear. 🤠
It happened so fast, but I don't think the ref was acting. I think he reflexively flinched and lost his footing trying to avoid getting hit with maybe a glancing blow or push that took him off balance by one or the other player involved.
I don't care how little contact there was, I'm glad he went down to make sure that it was noticed. That kind of crap needs to be dealt with severely.
Yes he needs to be kicked out of the stadium, and suspended for some of next year. I saw sh*t like this at high school practice, a guy would get mad at another guy and punch him in the face. Except, the opponent had his helmet on. Then, the two would go at it, swinging away. It is hard to injure somebody when they have full gear on, but you might break your hand. That looked stupid in practice, and this QB looks stupid.
The officials are making sure the "right" team wins this...sure some blatant no-calls. I could care less who wins, and it'll no doubt be LSU. The refs doing what they're doing is overkill.
Since the Refs are doing their thing, I just hate they are so obvious about it. I wonder what the next one will be, I really do not care as long as Ohio State loses.

Think I'll watch Dobie Gillis re-runs on YouTube.
I agree that there should have been a late hit call.
They sure are playing up Jalen Hurts...... and he's above average, but ..... he couldn't keep his starting job at Bama and he's not showing much today, except how not to play. I believe he will be another Tebow.
but I hate Clemson more and their stupid girly looking QB.
Clemon plays in a weak ass conference. If they can beat the Suckeyes then I’ll be impressed.
His momma ought ti be arrested for havin' such an ugly kid.............Day-bow has done nuthin' but run his mouth about how they should be #1 & NOBODY wants to come down & play 'em.
And yes, they played a weak-azz schedule & I hope tOSU beats them about 50-0.
Heh-heh, Lawrence just got his azz kicked real good.
Girly guy, girly quarterback, yak yak yak. LOLOL. Be fun to see you funny boys take on 'ol Girly. LOL. All 6'6 220 lb of him. LOL. Roll Tide Roll but those are all matches girly wouldn't break a sweat on. Girly......too funny. You'd all be spittin chiclets.
I think LSU will win but it will be closer than the game with zero U.
It will be a closer game than most are expecting, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Clemson win. I'll be pulling for LSU because of the SEC, but their defense has been known to give up points, and Clemson is good at taking advantage of that.
Having watched both of the semifinal games it is apparent to me, now, that there is a tremendous difference in the athletic talent on the field. Oklahoma, the best Big 12 team by far, is not even in the discussion this year. tOSU, Clemson and LSU are leaps and bounds ahead of the entire pack. Clemson v LSU is going to be a slobber knocker. My poor little Cowboys and Mike Gundy are at the bottom of Mt. Everest and looking up.
LSU is in for the fight of their lives. Clemson is disciplined, talented and well coached. Toss a coin on that game.
LSU by 40.
LOL. Couldnt do that with OU, and Clemson is a stronger team.
LOL, Didn't want to or need to with OU, is a better statement. Take your foot off the gas pedal and the vehicle will coast to a stop. That's what LSU did. I agree that Clemson is gonna be tougher than OU.

All very true, and yet there are those who still insist that the play-offs need to be expanded.

I'd expect a tighter margin than that. Clemson has a good defense. So does Ohio State. There's a reason that game was a dogfight. OU's defense isn't anywhere close to either even if it is better than last season, which was hot garbage. Hurtz isn't that good playing against top level D's. Take away his first few reads and contain him reasonably well, he tanks. Also, OU lost a lot on their OL. This one's not bad, but not so dominant and seasoned as last year's. I'd expect it to improve next season.

Don't leave Georgia out of the discussion. They have been absolutely killing it on the recruiting trail since Kirby took over. They are loaded with talent, but Kirby hasn't been able to put it all together. And of course, there's Bama, stacked top to bottom. LSU has always had an embarrassment of talent riches. This year they finally got the offense lined out which was never going to happen under Miles, and a special QB to run it.

There were only three championship caliber teams this year. Some years there are five or more. Stanford in the 2015 season, Baylor and TCU in 2014 for example. Better to include too many and let them get sorted out on the field than to exclude teams that deserve to go.
I'm not a SEC fan, my Sooners got their AZZ handed to them. I do like Burreaux and coach O. I don't think anybody is in their class this year. Ohier state? The only OSU is Okie State.

The verdict is still out with me on Georgia. I expect Baylor to give them all they want, and would not be surprised if Baylor were to win. I equate Georgia and Oklahoma as co-equals . . . but not on the top shelf with Clemson, LSU (this year is an anomaly,) Alabama and Ohio St. (all with regard to recruiting, athletic talents = 5*'s, etc)

Oh, I am all for an 8-team playoff. You never know for sure til they play the game on the field. (I thought Oklahoma was going to beat LSU, until after I watched them play.) So many externals can affect a college football team at any time. Take the Five Power Conference Champions and vote on the other three if you like. A committee can seed them 1-8, then start the playoffs at the home field of the highest seeded teams. The semifinals and finals can then proceed just like the current bowl system works.

Georgia vs Baylor should be a good game, if Baylor’s QB is healthy. If he goes down like in the last game, Georgia will pound them. Oklahoma wasn’t near as good as Georgia.
And The Tide will embarrass Harbaugh and Michigan.

I am not for an 8 team playoff. There have never been 8 championship caliber teams at the end of the regular season.

DraftKings was the first to post an over/under, which came in at 71 and dipped down to 70.5 right away. The spread at DraftKings got as high as LSU -6.5, before getting immediately bet down to the current number of LSU -5.5. It never touched the key number of 7.
Anyone who says or agrees with the statement ". . . There have never been 8 championship caliber teams at the end of the regular season. . . " is merely expressing subjective opinion or conjecture. The only objective method of proving who is a champion is by playing the games on the field of play amongst the champions of the equal Power 5 Conferences, plus three "filler teams" to expand the tournament bracket to a manageable eight teams.

My comment was solely addressing yours about the tremendous difference in the athletic talent on the field of the top tier, not how well those teams are performing overall this season or even recently. Georgia and Bama are loaded. They have the athletes to compete with anyone. Their problem isn't being out talented except perhaps at the QB position which is a difference making one. Advantage LSU there.
Speaking of Baylor, consider how well they are coached and played OU like their hair was on fire when they met earlier this season. OU took over in the second half which is what often happens when a more talented team plays a lesser talented, but well coached team that gave it their best shot. Georgia will have a massive talent advantage over Baylor and should be motivated after last season's Sugar Bowl upset. Considering the recruiting disadvantage Rhule walked into at Baylor, he has done a remarkable job in short order. They chose well.
I despise the notion that a bunch of old white guys are going to meet in a smoke filled room and vote on who is going to have the chance to play for a mythical national championship in Div 1A football, instead of following the timeless method of letting the players decide it on the field of play by pitting champions against champions.
How is it wrong that one conference is just better? It's not our fault really SEC hatred is a real thing. We had the BCS we dominated that so then the CFP and up untill this year the Fightin'Sabans have been in that. How bout 6 teams? #1&2 get byes then play it through then we could have 4 of the 6 and keep the money and the title down heah in God's country(never heard of anyone retiring and moving North have you?) I pick a bit but after last night anyone think OU and The buckeyes do anything with the Bayoux Bengals? Just got a text Joe Burrowx just threw another TD. Tween the hedges red stick the loveliest village on the plains cowbells in Starkvegas the Grove Rocky top the quad in T Town people SAY they want us the never ask for us though.
LSU had a hard time beating Auburn in their own back yard. Only won by 3 points 23-20. They only beat Alabama by 6. Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama are probably better than Oklahoma. Clemson only won one of their games by one point, and were close in others. Yet Clemson took care of Ohio State. An 8 game play off system would be better, but we would have to go back to a 10 game season, to have time.

Just me but even those old white guys know these lesser conferences have no place in playoff system. Also about the money in what teams fan base travel and spend $$$. Smaller schools and lesser conferences don’t fit the equation. If expansion were to happen, then what about a “super” conference creation. That way the “super” schools will be playing playoff type ball all year.
Cause we need the cupcakes of the world to remain as cupcakes. Nobody likes to admit it but that's why you'll never see 25 team east vs 25 team west super conference.
What's very apparent to me is that OSU has a world of talent. What's also very apparent is that any time they play someone with an equal amount of talent they get beat. Nobody in the Big 10 has anywhere near the amount of talent OSU has, which is why they always run right through that league. The ACC was weak this year for sure, but Clemson has a world of talent too, and when they play someone with an equal amount of talent they seem to come out on top the majority of the time. That says a lot to me.
If Clemson doesn't figure out how to pressure Burrow it will be a long, long night for them vs LSU. OSU's QB had all day to throw most of the time, and Burrow will eat them alive, whereas Field's just doesn't have the "it" factor anywhere except the Big 10. Anyway, I expect more excuses from Buckeye fans over the next month or so. Always love it when anything to do with Urban Myer gets beat.
What a total embarassment for OU, and the Big 12. I rarely feel sorry for OU, but I have to admit I did because I kind of like Lincoln Riley. Even if Baylor had beaten OU and got in, they would have suffered the same fate OU did, as it would have been a shellacking. This mindset of all offense and good enough defense is a big reason why the Big 12 basically sucks across the board. I think if there were an 8 team playoff, probably 5 of those that get in would get the ever lovin' crap kicked out of them. I would agree that there's rarely more than 3 teams in any given year that have the talent level and coaching to win it all. If you believe that recruiting matters, it's not going to change anytime soon. There's always 5-6 SEC teams with the top recruiting classes.

Herman is a clown, a classless clown at that. How UT puts up with this idiot is beyond me.
I'm sure this is old news to some of you, but did anyone catch this asshat's response of flying the bird when a highly sought after recruit flipped and signed with another team?
Then some head-butting nonsense before the OU game........it didn't work.
UT has more money than the Catholic Church! If Herman doesn’t win this year he will be gone. It’s been too long since UT has really been mighty...and for The Texas-Exes that won’t fly any longer. It’s win or be gone and damn the contract.

They have the money, but they evidently wont spend it like OU does on coaches to win.
