What is your “go to” bourbon for an average holed up night? Weller 107 Antique is mine. Limited supply here keeps me hunting so I don’t run out. I have been looking for over a year for a bottle of Weller 12 year and can’t get it. If anyone can hook me up with a bottle I would appreciate it.
I’m easy and cheap
4 roses is my grab in/out
I’m always entertained by these threads, go buy something that a campfire hero recommends. It costs $80 and tastes like cigarette butts were soaked in it.
I dont know where Wild Turkey is made, but I like it for the value.
Old Granddad BIB is another good value.
Blanton's, Woodford, Weller
No Weller available in Florida other than the base product, ‘Weller Reserve’. I am having that as we speak. My favorite is Old Fitzgerald, which is not sold in Florida. Last year, DVDGeorge hooked me up with a rare bottle of 11 year old bottled in bond. I am forever in his debt, and would take a bullet for him any day. 😜
Any number will do fine......
Buffalo Trace when I can find it
Bulleit
Russel's Reserve 10 year
Wild Turkey 101
Eagle Rare 10 year
Right before the state closed our liquor stores, I stocked up on Elijah Craig Small Batch. I'm content.
That's a decent bourbon but I won't hunt it down or pay more than $40 for it. In fact, on principle I won't buy any Buffalo Trace products due to their allocation nonsense. My go to and what I prefer to support is the Wild Turkey products because they are very tasty and a good value and they don't play games with their customers. Both Russell's Reserve Single Barrel and Rare Breed are wonderful whiskies, available and at fair prices. Wild Turkey 101 is an excellent daily pour. Since I'm holed up due to the virus, I've popped a couple really nice bourbons; WB Saffel and Hillrock Estate Solera Bourbon, both wonderful stuff. The last Weller Antique I purchased I paid $30 for it and thought that was what it was worth.
I dont know where Wild Turkey is made, but I like it for the value.
Old Granddad BIB is another good value.
I'm with you and also really like the Old Forester bourbons and like Old Granddad 114. Old Forester 1920 is a favorite.
I’ve got 1/2 bottle of WT rare breed in my cabinet.
It’s one of my “tastes like a cigarette butt” mentions
Who knows maybe I have a brain tumor. I should pour it down the crapper but maybe when I get old and retarded, I’ll enjoy it.

Four Roses Single Barrel
Elijah Craig Small Batch
Larceny
Average - Eagle Rare
Above ave EH Taylor, Blantons, E Craig BP, Stagg Jr
Other Ave - Russels Reserve Private picks, baby Saz,
I like Jefferson's Reserve, finished in old rum casks. I also like Angel's Envy, finished in port wine barrels. I save these two for special occasions.
For normal functions, Basil Hayden's from Costco is tough to beat. It goes on sale, pretty regularly, for less than $30 a bottle.
I'm a simple fella, Eagle Rare.
Knob creek is good too.
I'm not a fan of bourbon. But the Beam family has been rooted in the bourbon business for quite some time.

Ah! You have become quite the kindofsewer!
Every day is Evan Black, Really enjoy Evan Single barrel for a treat.
I have a bottle of Knob Creek and Eagle Rare in my cabinet
The older I get the less I like bourbon though
I did do the Bourbon Trail 2 years ago and hit alot of the places mentioned here.
George Dickel sour mash is pretty darn good and only 18 bucks a bottle.I had some single barrel whiskey out of Waco Texas that is the best I've coated my tonsils with.Runs about 90 bucks a fith. Got it for christmas and now it's gone....Don't care for the Turkey. Substandard [bleep]. Skunk Brothers Distilling out of Stevenson, WA mkaes some great shine and a 2-3 year old that is sublime! I'm out....
You all take care now
Jerry

All good picks. Angel's Envy is my favorite. Jefferson Reserve is a very close second. I also like Four Roses Single Barrel.

Or, on special in Canada, for $50 a 750ml !
I've tried a ton of 'em, and I still get back to Evan Williams..
Ezra Brooks!!!! As American as apple pie. Ya all don't know what your missin.. Thank me later!
Take care, Willie
Economical. Wild turkey 101 but its variable . If you find a good batch buy several.
Woodford is always good.
High end: some of the Parkers Heritage but most are too light on rye for me.
I am not a connissuer with highly developed tastes for Burbons, I usually get by just fine with Evan Williams but I did get a bottle of the Jim Beam Repeal Batch for Christmas and I really like it. I find most Burbons overpriced, if I am going to spend that kind of money I will buy an Irish Whiskey instead.
drover
Damn sur ain't Makers Mark!!
Buffalo Trace, and it's always available out here.
Anything from Bardstown, Ky.
Damn sur ain't Makers Mark!!
Can I get an AMEN ????
Buffalo Trace, and it's always available out here.
Same for me...
I generally like and drink Col. EH Taylor but I'm no connoisseur.
Seems lately I have taking a shine to rye whiskey, and Bulleit Rye seems easily accessible and pretty good
I think Evan Williams Bottled-In-Bond is the best in it's class for the money.I'm still amazed it's priced that cheap.
I'm not hard to please, I really like Wild Turkey 101.
But, for fancy bourbon I like Blantons, Elmer T Lee, and EH Taylor.
Jim Beam Devils cut for everyday
4 roses
buffalo trace
eagle rare 10 yr
woodfords reserve
jeffersons reserve
elijah craig
favorites are 4 roses, with eagle rare and devils cut right behind
If I'm feeling rich I switch to good scotch
Any of these I just picked up...
EDC, Evan Williams Black, feelin special Bulliet, and just the other day I tasted Horse Solider, GOOD LAWD!!!! that was smooth. GOT DAMN!
Finished of the last two fingers of a bottle of four roses single barrel tonight. The two I really enjoy as of late are Elijah Craig and Eagle Rare.
Not from Kentucky, but I really like the TX Bourbon. I usually don’t care for bourbon or Tennessee whisky, but I think the TX is just right.
My favorite is Rare Breed Wild Turkey followed by Blantons then Stranahans FOLLOWED BY Diamond peak Weller's when i find it cheap found 5 bottles at Christmas for 20.00 a bottle.
BUT MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE IS WHAT EVER YOUR SERVING FOR FREE LOL.
Rebecca Creek, Bulleit...but when dollars are figured in, Wild Turkey 101. Henry McKenna is a wild card/honorable mention.
Yep. The Zebco 33 of bourbons...the Remington 870 of bourbons. Never fails. Good stuff.
Seems lately I have taking a shine to rye whiskey, and Bulleit Rye seems easily accessible and pretty good
My go to for an Old Fashioned.
Seems lately I have taking a shine to rye whiskey, and Bulleit Rye seems easily accessible and pretty good
Loves me some George Dickel's Rye !!!!
Angels Envy is my go to sipping bourbon and Benchmark (by Buffalo Trace) is great for mixed drinks.
Russell Reserve Rye if you forced me to pick only one and stick with it.
I am not a fan of bourbon but a couple of weekends ago some of my best friends meet in Lexington for a guys weekend. One brought a bottle of I W Harper. Since I don’t like the burn they told me to try it. Not bad. No burn.
Elijah Craig, especially their 23 yr old stuff. The standard bottle is good too.
If I’m mixing, Old Crow has good bourbon flavor.

That's a damn fine sippin whiskey. I've got one of those, but not sure I could top it.

If you're going on the cheap, Old Crow is pretty good stuff. I could probably drink nothing but that for whiskey the rest of my life and not miss the expensive stuff...much. I really should have a gallon or two of it right now.
Yep, always on hand !
Same - Been looking for Weller 12-year for a very long time. For the price, you can't beat Weller's Reserve (If you can find it).
Some of mine.
Weller Full Proof is really good.
I think Evan Williams Bottled-In-Bond is the best in it's class for the money.I'm still amazed it's priced that cheap.
That is actually one of my daily drinkers.
