Hello:

I have a custom FN 98 and Tally bases. The screw holes match perfectly, but I can't figure out which screw goes in which hole. Tally says the easiest way is to drop the screws in the bases until you find a combination where the screws protrude through the base an equal amount. I thought I had done so, but then the bolt binds on one of the rear screws. It looks as if the four screw lengths are long, medium long, medium, and short.

Does anyone know the proper order, starting with the rear screw hole and progressing towards the front? Or even a simpler way of figuring it out?

Thanks,
I found some shorter screws as a temporary fix. We'll see how they work.
Lots of guys would just shorten the offending one!

Thanks for the reply Jim. I did not want to alter anything until I was sure I had them in the correct holes. Now that I have them figured out, I will shorten them just a hair.

Shortening screws is the way to go. Agree with Jim.
