I recently purchased an Ithaca Model 72 saddle gun. It has a screw missing. Holding the rifle with the barrel to the right and looking at the receiver there are two screws on each end of the receiver. I'm missing the one closest to the forearm. Where can I get one and what do I ask for? The rifles action when you lever it seems anaemic for lack of a better term. It also doesnt eject 22 shells but I believe it has its ejector. Were they problematic rifles? .
Also, what is the difference between the 72 and the Model 49?
The Model 49 is a sort of a Martini action single shot.

There are lots of posts saying the Model 72 and the Henry are almost the same thing. Maybe a part or two will interchange.

The Ithaca model 72 replaced the single shot model 49. It was actually an imported "Erma" rifle from Germany that Ithaca put their name and logo on. It is very similar to a Henry. The president of Henry rifles (Anthony Imperato) father designed this rifle for Erma before the current Henry rifle company existed. He later bought back the rights to this design and produced what we now have as the "Henry".
