Anyone have a referal for a trigger job on a Rem 760? I dont want to just put a spring kit in but rather have the sear/hammer done to rid the trigger of creep.
thanks
Before I retired, I did several of these. It's not real hard but is time consuming. I don't think you will find anyone that will do it now. I can give you the details on how I did it, if you would like. One thing, there must be a slight amount of "slop" in the trigger or it will not cock.
I've heard that the Timney 870 trigger kit will work on the Remington 760 too. Might want to check with Timney to make sure, but it might be a good option.
It will/it does.. Not exactly cheap - but I installed one in an 870 for a guy who shoots a lot of trap and he loves it..
I have installed a few of the Patriot Sear springs and the triggers have averaged 3# 4oz. after this simple modification . I think that's a pretty good return on a $10.00 investment that takes about 5 Mins. to install !I have ordered some spring stock that will allow me to make my own for about 50 cents each !
I remember when Allen Timney still owned Timney Triggers I would send him a 1100 ot 11-87 trigger and that SOB made them like rifle triggers. Too bad he got old..........
And it cost all of 45 bucks IIRC.
Lee, can you get any of the creep put of these?
IIRC you can simply tap the pins that hold the triiger assembly in and just send the trigger!
Found a guy to do the trigger job on my 760. Our own Redneck cleaned it right up and has it breakin right a 3 lbs with a min of creep.
Thanks Lee!
