I am going to change the spring on a browning a bolt to lighten the trigger. When I put the barrel and stock back together, do the screws that hold them together need a certain torque setting or just tighten them until their snug?
If it is a two screw action, tighten the front one fairly snug and then tighten the back one firm, but not as snug.If it is a 3 screw, tighten the middle on just enough to keep it in and the last one.

There are torque values for tightening action screws and even special inch pound torque wrenches to do so for about$80+or-.
I have never used one , but there will be quite few members here that say you have to have one.

Probably some posters here that have the same rifle as you do and canbe a little more specific.
Ive got both an inch and ft lbs torque wrench so that should be covered.
I might be off ,but I think it is about 70 inch pounds for the front and 50 for the back. I bet if you Google the question you will get more info than you need.
I usually do un-bedded factory wood and synthetic to 35-40 in-lbs and pillar bedded guns to 50-55 in-lbs. The Army keeps swearing I need 65in-lbs and I do it because I'm using their tools and guns but I have never seen the need for it on my guns.
This is the info that comes with the Wheeler Fat Wrench.
