Cerakote on the bolt and action makes the action sticky?

I was reading that it makes the bolt sticky is this true? I never heard that before.

Mine either, IIRC, smith said cerakote was kinda self lubricating, mine operate way slicker than factory.

I ran into this years ago when I parkerized a Rem M700 and a M721. The coating thickness was the culprit, but after some rounds downrange and additional dry practice they both wore in nicely.

I have a bolt that is cerakoted in matte, and it did make the bolt sticky. I figured the matte finish is simply rougher than the others???
Have a bolt done in BlackIce Teflon, and it is slick.

The metallic finishes are gritty and need some use to break in. The matte finishes less so. The gloss ones not at all.
