I recently obtained this bolt in a lot of parts and need help with correct identification. While I'm pretty confident its a Remington bolt, I'm not ready to call it a Remington 7 bolt ( even though it seemed to fit my 7-08) because it might be a Remington 700 short action bolt ???

Anywho here is a pic- help appreciated.

Is your 7mm08 a model 7?
Yes, my 7-08 is a right handed Remington Model 7

A model seven bolt is shorter than a 700. It must be a Seven bolt.

What size bolt face?
.470 I think, 7-08 seems to fit correctly. BTW I don't have a short action 700 to check/compare

a 700 SA bolt is 6.5 inches total
The length on this one is just over 6" so it is probably a Remington Model 7 bolt for calibers such as 7-08.

Thanks to all for the info and comments.
You obviously have it figured out, but to confirm, that is a Model 7 bolt. Here is mine from a .308 Model 7:

The shroud on a M-7 has a flat on the right side for safety lever clearance while a 700 shroud is a little shorter and has no flat on the side.
Aft surface of bolt lug to fwd surface of bolt handle at widest cross section mean dimension(s)-

XP-100,XP-100R,600,660,Seven= 3.850"
722,700S/A,40X= 4.375"
721,700 L/A= 5.215"
