I know this that the CLASSIFIEDS is the proper place to post but this forum audience is whom I am appealing to. I do stock work and for templating I need a Rem 700 LONG action that for some reason or other, is NOT suitable for use as an actual firearm. It can be 'demilled' so to speak as long as the original receiver dimensions are correct and the threads are reasonably true - slightly oversize is fine as long as an OEM barrel will screw in without play when butted up snug against the recoil lug. Again, this will be used as a template receiver for stock work only. I realize that it will still need to transfer to an FFL.

I also need a take-off Remington 700 MAGNUM contour barrel. It doesn't matter what length, caliber, or condition as long as it's the original factory MAGNUM contour and the threads are intact.

If anyone can help out, please PM me - I realize there is a cost to everything but what I am looking for is a receiver and barrel NOT suitable for their intended use. Let me know what $ you want or I can owe you a favor for future stock work. Right now I am "re-purposing" and customizing fiberglass/composite stocks. I also have 20+turn-in (Redfield-type) ring sets, i-inch, low and medium heights by Leupold, Burris, & Redfield in gloss, matte, and silver/gray and some bases for Rem 700 and Win 70 if you interested in some swaps.

I will look through my pile of barrels. Pretty sure I have a magnum barrel that's not good enough for reuse. You need to find a rifle that has been in a fire for the action. Not much other reason to retire an action.
