I purchased an old Browning Hi Power as a project gun that has a good bit os light surface rust. I have a friend that has a sand blasting cabniet that I can use, what type of media should I use to remove the rust??

Before you sandblast why not try a Frontier 45 Metal Cleaner? You'll be surprised how well they clean-up light rust without doing any harm to the blue.

What type of finish you plan to go with after "clean up" will influence what you use. You going to want polished or matte, etc.. Are you trying to only remove rust or unify the surface finish. Steel wool and oil will remove rust too.

Thanks for the advice, im going to try some of the Frontier 45. I havent received the gun yet, the listing said it was parked but looked blue to me. I will no more when I get it in hand next week

I've found Frontier 45 more aggressive than I like. Go with 100% bronze or copper wool (chore boy). Make sure to flush the wool often with the oil/penetrating oil of your choice while you work.
