+1 on the Savage 99 and Browning BLR. You could search for an old Winchester M88, too.

The only one that's currently being made is the BLR, but there's plenty of opportunity to pickup a good used Savage 99 , or a Winchester 88.

Sako made one too, don't know how many of those are around though.

Thanks, guys. I don't know how I missed the BLR.
I sure wish Marlin made one in .243 too.

Not REAL tough to find a decent one in a Savage 99. Should run under $600 before shipping and FFL fee, I've got two. Course, the NIB isn't going to be for under $600.. grin

Bit more graceful than the BLR, which I liken to pretty much a log with a lever underneath.

Hi Calhoun I'm interested in the savage NIB. I'm new to campfire so maybe you can tell me how to get the ball rolling.

Some speculate that Marlin will come out with a variation of their new 308 Marlin Express in a necked down smaller caliber in 2008. I have no idea but you may want to be a little patient and wait until after the 2008 shotshow to see if there is any truth in this or if it is just wishful thinking.

Roger that, flyingfool. That would be great if they did.
