I was in the Montana Historical Museum Library today looking for historic documents and found the original Articles of Incorporation for the Montana Armory of Bozeman in 1896. I had bought the gun in Cody some years back and have been looking for historical data on the Montana Armory. There just isn't much out there. What I did find were the original documents, signed by the owners in perfect condition. History is great, I wished I had paid more attention when I was in school.

This is the store on Bozeman's Main Street, the buildings to the right of the plume of smoke are no longer there, as the explosion of 2009 blew up that part of Main Street...

Another puzzle pice that fits together. I remember you showing us some of these photos on here before, but you have a more complete picture of the rifle's probable past now.
Cool update.

Killed any bunnies lately?
BTW, the last page is likely left-handed writing... look at the backward slant.
Come on down for a weekend and we can go blast some bunnies...
.

Great posts, I love it when an old gun can be traced back to a bit of history. A fine looking rifle.
