Wondering what a Winchester 9410 1 of 500 special edition case Color reciever lever 410 is worth. I have one and am wondering if I should hold on to it forever or if there is an optimal time to turn it into money?

Aren't the regular ones going for something like $1000, give or take? Yours sounds very cool. Got any pictures?

Gunbroker is the best way to get a good idea, but I couldn't locate any in the completed aucions like what you have. Of the "regular" ones without CC, they sold for $775-850, while the ones asking $1199 weren't.
Though it's not apples to apples due to the case color, it would give you a starting point. As for hanging onto it, I'm not the guy to ask as I've got a bunch that have gone up in value, but some that have not. If you like it, hang on to it.
I shoot my Marlin 410 and its a hoot, but it's nothing special either, blue/walnut. I guarantee one thing, pull it out on the skeet field next to a $5000 Perazzi and they giggle.

I have broken a fair number of clay birds with my 9410 Packer. Pretty cool to pull out when everyone else is shooting a traditional shotgun. Mine even has choke tubes (not that this makes a lot of difference shooting...)

I too have a Packer 9410, with the chokes. I used the excuse that my kids needed it. I just thought it would be cool.
Neither I nor my kids at the time were able to break many clays. While it is a hoot to shoot, I can't say we have done much damage with it.
What sort of clays are you referring to? Trap, skeet, or sporting clays? Your own thrower in an empty field? Which chokes have worked for you?
I think it is one of the guns I will always keep, though I can't justify why. I could probably roll it over into something else. They go for much more than I paid for it. I ordered it from my dealer the day I heard about that model, and while scarce, he was able to locate one.
The kids,( 3 girls and a boy), have either outgrown it, or aren't into guns. It is a great looking gun. I dream of having a cabin somewhere and it would be one of the ones behind the kitchen door; or kept in a rack next to my reading chair on the front porch overlooking the pond. That's the day dream anyway.

I have a Do-all thrower that hookes into my trailer hitch. Just in a pasture is where I have shot it. I normally use the full choke.
It is also an AWESOME squirrel gun!

Thanks for mentioning the squirrels. I just recallled that once I found a ground squirrel (Calif.) sitting on a rock pile about 100' away. I usually just use an air rifle, but because of the distance and I had the 9410, I let fly. The squirrel flew about a foot in the air and flipped over. I was astounded never having shot a .410 at anything animate. Sure enough the squirrel was lying among the rocks. They are tenacious beasts so I was further impressed. The shot was probably #4's.
I recently bought two different brands of defense ammo and am looking forward to trying them. I tried slugs once and wasn't too impressed but am not sure I gave them a fair assessment so may revisit them when I test the defense rounds.
