Has anyone tried a Wild West Guns Happy Trigger Kit in their Marlin 1894. I am pretty sure the mushy 4 lb trigger is causing me to occasionally pull a shot left. I have been shooting my marlin so much recently that when I switched to a bolt gun I forgot what good trigger feels like.

I have them in every Marlin I've owned, hundreds of them. 1894, 95, 336, 35 LTD, 95 LTD's, "D's", CB's, LTS, XLR's, 450M's, TS, TK, SDG, SDT, 444 Outfitters, 338, 308, 375's, 32 Spcl.

They aren't necessary to get a better trigger pull though. Most times you can pop in a Wolfe reduced power hammer spring and it makes everything work better. Cycling and trigger. I've never had an FTF or light strike.

Try that first, its about $6. I do think the WWG trigger is worth the $$.

Thanks so much. I read about replacing the hammer spring and was somewhat concerned light primer strikes.

Will the WW trigger take some of the mushy feel out of the trigger. I assume the replacement spring will simply reduce the weight of pull somewhat.

I guess it takes the Wiggle-Jiggle out of it and makes it break a bit lighter and cleaner.

The hammer spring does make it better though. It also reduces the pressure getting the bolt over the hump.

I've used a few of them.

On some rifles they lightened the pull, on others there wasn't much change.

However, the trigger seems to break "cleaner" in all rifles.

As a follow up... I replaced the hammer spring and lightly stoned the burrs off the trigger. I did not get the Happy Trigger since I wanted to see what improvement the spring would make first. The hammer spring definitely made a big difference. Midway was sold out so I ordered from Brownell's. The trigger breaks right at 3 lbs now and it does cycle smoother too. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but it appears the spring was a nice (and cheap) upgrade. Thanks for the info.

Glad it worked or you. There really is no reason to do anything other than what you did trigger wise unless you can't deal with flop.
