Question on current production BLR's

The browning website says 4.5 lbs trigger.
The BLR is not known for its trigger, 8 lbs in not unusual.
Any guys owned or handled a current BLR and can speak on the trigger please...

What would you choose for scope mounts?

My BLR probably has a 4.5 lb trigger. That feels about right. I've had bolt action triggers that were way worse.

My rifle is quite accurate for a lever action. I don't need a target trigger for the forests I hunt in. I'm very satisfied with it.

Or an older one with 4.5 lbs?

4.5 would be fine for me, don't need a target trigger either.
But I am in a remote location requiring a mail order. Weather buying new or used.

Is it worth buy new cause the trigger might be better?

It's a current model BLR Lightning in 358 Winchester. I bought it new a few years back. I have no complaints with the trigger for the woods hunting I do with the rifle.

Now I never actually measured my trigger pull. I'm used to 2 and 3 lb triggers. You mentioned 4.5 so I'll go along with that.

There were people complaining about the BLR triggers when I bought mine also. I ordered it and when it came into the shop I felt the trigger was great for a lever action. If it wasn't, I would have shipped it off to one of the recommended smiths that specialize in BLR trigger work.

My BLR is super fast shooting, light and accurate. It's become a favorite.

Scope mounts I use are Dednutz. One piece and very light.

I own 3 BLR's:
.308 TD
.358
.22 Grade IV with octagon barrel

All were purchased new since 2013. All have coarse triggers in the 6-7 lb range

Purchased a new 358 BLR back around 2013 that was nearly 7.5 lbs, took it to a Browning authorize smith for free service in SoCal. They had it for a couple of months and lowered it to 4.5 BUT it would not fire half the time. Browning had me send it to the factory after 3+ months it came back at 8 lbs.

That is when I heard about Neil Jones in Erie, PA sent it off and less then 3 weeks later it came back at 3.5 lbs, no creep and worked every time I pulled the trigger, I do not remember the charge but worth every penny.

I have had 2 of my 7 BLRs(what can I say I'm a leverholic) done so far both were 5 pound ish. They came back at 3.5 and are great.
