Bought one yesterday. Where I hunt is pretty thick and shots are usually under 100. I was going to get a 30-30, but I have a lot of 44 magnum reloading components.

Skinner sights are ordered. Went ahead and bought a taller front sight in case the stock sight is too short.

I picked up the Big Boy Steel Carbine in 44 a little over a week ago, about 5 of us shot it a few times each and everyone was very impressed with it. Let us know how the Skinners work out I am thinking about getting them myself...
