Mine says .30 U.S. Mod. 1903 The guy I got it from said it was a 30-40 Krag but tuned out it was a 30-06 which was fine with me. I've got some Rem 220 gr. that I'm going to use in it.
Own a take down 195 model in .405 Winchester. Used it to shoot a bison about 2 years ago. Mounted receiver sights on it, very accurate. Even with my old eyes it is capable of 1.5 inches at 100 yards with Barnes 300 grain TSX's.
I have a saddle ring carbine in 30-06, along with a 38-72,40-72, and 2 405,s. Here are a few pictures of my brothers ultra rare 36" half octagon 40-72 rifle.
I have a TD 30 Govt 1906 with a Lyman 21 that loves IMR 4350 and the Hornady 190g BTSP. I have carried it a few times hunting but have yet to pull the trigger.
