Yes they are. I don't know what else would do all it does at high altitudes. Very versatile.
Bought a Ti for last sheep hunt and was amazed at how little fuel we burned......very fast!
Yes, they are worth it. Light weight, boil water fast, pack up nice and small. Just converted last year and I am amazed. Only draw back is the price tag, I payed something like $120 for my Ti single man.

David put up the link... all I can add is I haven't been enthusiastic about much if any gear for many years... the Jetboil is one of only a couple of things that have gotten me excited. So simple and effective.
A remarkable little gem. Not perfect, but head and shoulders above the competition for 3 season boiling... if I want real cooking or winter use, I pull out a WG stove.
This past season was the first time I used my JB stove and I was really pleased with its performance. Quick and easy to setup, very simple to use and packs fairly small. I pack mine in an Expedition pouch which holds the stove, two small fuel canisters, a collapsible bowl and a spork. It is definitely worth the price IMHO.

They are great. Durable too. I used one nearly every day (multiple times some days) for a year. Same stove is going back for a six month trip.
Bought one over the summer but have yet to really trail test it yet. But practicing around the house shows it does very well while using little fuel. With a little trial and error it simmers decent too.
The Jetboil Ti rocks for back pack hunts where all you need is to boil water. By the time I open a package of Via and put it in my cup the water on my Ti is already boiling.
The MSR reactor is heavier, but it boils water so fast it's unreal

Roger Caffin is the resident stove-master on that forum (no trail dust on Hikin' Jim, either), both are way smarter than me, and his Roger's opinion bears notice. With that said, I've got one of these stoves as do many of you and have used it for awhile with no problems.

Reminds me of the very common flame outs with MSR Whisperlites.
There is a reason that climbers are willing to drop nearly a C-note for a SVEA 123 that is older than they are and rebuild it. Go figure.

pka45, I followed the link to the store on your blog, trying to get the jetboil at that price. it's at 120 right now, not a bad price at all, but they won't honor the coupon code. I called then and they told me it violated the MAP (min. ad. price) they have with jetboil. too, bad, its a great deal at 102!

Absolutely love mine. I'm always astounded at how long a fuel cannister will last.
They are GREAT! Its one of the most handy gadgets I have. The only problem i've found is when its below 20 degrees, it really seems to suck up the fuel or when I was on a hunting trip at 12K'.
This being said, I really have no experience with stoves besides this one so I really dont have a basis to make a good call on fuel consumption.
I think this will be my next stove.
Just got done with a javelina hunt here in AZ...saw temps down to 20 and no problems. A plus is I was using the same fuel canister from the previous 3 trips. I just use mine to boil water for cooking and drinking on one trip where my filter broke in a wilderness and I was drinking boiled water out of green pools (yuck).
I haven't tried cooking with pots yet but my girlfriend loves it for her morning coffee lol
Dumb question maybe, does the Jetboil ONLY use the Jetboil canisters or will they work with other prop/I-butane mix canisters like MSR's?
Jetboil, Snowpeak, MSR... works with all of them.

No offense taken here. Roger is the most knowledgeable person that I know of when it comes to stoves. He is a physicist; I am not. If Roger says "physical chemistry does 'X'," then I'd take him at his word.
BPL pulled that thread on the JetBoil for whatever reason.
