A few weeks back, I bought a pair of Scarpa Charmoz Pro GTX boots from Kuiu for a 2017 sheep hunt. They are great boots, stiff but very light, but my narrow heel moves excessively in them. I've encountered this problem with nearly every pair of boots I've ever worn so it's not a dig on the Scarpas. Lathrop & Sons custom fit a pair of their insoles for them which helped a great deal but these just aren't the right boots for my hard to fit feet.

It turns out that La Sportivas fit me perfectly with no heel slip so they will be my choice for this hunt. The Scarpas are like-new in the box with about 3 miles on them, just enough to not be able to return them.

I put them in the classifieds along with a pair of Kenetreks if anyone is interested. Not trying to hijack this page, just know that these are sort of niche boots that backpack hunters might be interested in.
