For a 6 inch anaconda, anyone have a red dot suggestion not as expensive as the Trijicon that wil hold zero pretty good?
I have a Leupold Deltapoint Pro on my 629 classic 5”. There are a lot of reviews of different sights on YouTube and they vary according to individual preferences. I like the Leupold but the base is to tall to co witness irons unless they are extremely tall.

I have a Burris Fastfire in a Wiegand aluminum picatinny rail on my S&W 460 XVR…..400 grainers @ 1600 mv haven’t destroyed it yet! 😉 memtb

I have been using a Burris Fastfire on mine for quite a while:

Even handles 300 grain loads with heavier recoil.

But today for around the same price I would go with one of the Holosun models. I have a couple and they do what they are supposed to.

Burris Fastfire on my 629 is working fine so far. Fairly inexpensive and is holding up.
Not the FF’s fault that I only hit the bullseye once. 😟

I have a Fast Fire on a Model 69. There have been no issues.

I no longer have a 44 but my 686 wears a Holosun 507C on an Allchin mount. Way better than irons for me.

I have another 507C on my daily carry Glock 19 and two Holosun 407C’s ( same sight without the option for circle dot reticle). One is on my Glock 45 match gun, the other is on my Glock 21. I believe if they will stand up to riding the slide, they will stand up to any 44 magnum load. I don’t shoot the 686 much anymore but I shoot the Glocks every Saturday and have never had a problem with the Holosuns.

How are you guys carrying these? I’m thinking about putting a dot on my S&W69 and I’m looking for some holster options. I’d like a chest rig if possible.

Thanks

I use a Galco Kodiak cross-chest leather holster (much more quiet than Kydex for hunting) for my 460 XVR. I simply “notched - out” a small piece to clear the sight! memtb

I mainly shoot competition, do very little hunting now but this is the holster I use for my 686.

Nice! Looks like a holosun is the ticket.

FWIW - I've a couple of Crimson Trace and a couple of Vortex with thousands of 9mm and S&W.40 rounds without complaint. Crimson Trace are less than $160 and the Vortex Venom run in the $250 - $300 range. Can't say one is better than the other.

Ultradot, I use it on my 44 and Max Prasac uses these on cannons! Great so far!

Burris Fastfire 3 with a Weigand weig-a-tinny mount on my Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum.

I’ve been carrying it crossdraw in a Triple K holster that I cu5 a notch in the leather to accommodate the sight.

This year I picked up an Uncle Mike’s Bandolier holster in camo. With the flap, the gun is a little loose, but stays put. If I use the strap, it’s a little more secure.
