Anybody got a Platypus 1911 by Stealth Arms yet?

I've handled one, I was really impressed with how good it felt in my hands. A buddy has that one, he's an IPSC Grandmaster, but he usually shoots some other 2011 of some sort (he has several to choose from).

While I AM interested in them, I went and bought a Tisas Carry B9R DS instead, it's half the price of the Platypus, and uses the readily available 2011 pattern magazines. It's also already cut for an RDS, you pay extra for that, with a Platypus.

If I had a bunch of Glock magazines, I'd probably be more interested, though. It feels REALLY good in the hands.

Don't blame you for the Tisas purchase - great buy
big thing with Platypus is using GLOCK 17 mags-- thats a big time game changer.

No argument from me, if I hadn't eschewed Glocks for so long, and had some magazines, I'd sure be more likely to buy one. IF my buddy decides to peddle his, and offers me a fair price, I might buy the thing. It DOES feel REALLY good in the mitts, I can't ignore that. My Tisas is my first double-stack pistol, and I'm still trying to learn it, got a long ways to go with that, but it's coming pretty quick. Never thought I 'd take to an RDS so quick, it really helps with my aging eyes. The Tisas is awfully fat in the grip frame, the Platypus is NOT, it's a great-feeling pistol that fits my smallish hands better. I don't know if that would matter much, these days, though. I kinda want one.....

My Grandmaster buddy can shoot anything well, of course, but his hands are bigger than mine, and he's younger and fitter. He's got at least a half-dozen 2011s of various types, but the Platypus is a little smaller than his hands prefer. If the price is right.............................

Still have several STIs and the magazines have always been a pain, especially the 40. The wait time is 4-6 weeks, and its relatively new so I think until more people have had a chance to break it.
