I never saw or handled any CZ 75 that I didn't like. I never saw or handled a Beretta 92 that I liked. It's just a personal preference with me. They may be almost equal in reliability, but my edge has to go to CZ for accuracy. Good luck.

I've had a CZ 75 for about 20 years now, and I absolutely love the thing. Lock time is amazing - double taps sound like one shot. Accurate like a drill press. Functions very well. I had a set of Millett adjustable sights put on mine.

Like croldfort, I have never seen a Beretta that I liked. I've shot several CZ's -- an 85 in 9 mm and a 75 in 40S&W. All shot and functioned flawlessly.

And I think the CZ may be a bit smaller if concealability is an issue.

Many years ago, when it came to spending my own ��� on a pistol, I went with a CZ75 and never regreted it...The Beretta 92 is another nice pistol, but always felt a bit chunckier to me...Best bet is to handle (and if possible shoot) them side by side and see which you prefer..

I'm on my second 92FS. Never a FTF or FTE. Great pistola. It is my main carry gun in cold weather. It digests anything and everything and hits where I point it. No need for any customization or modification like with a 1911.

I've owned a couple or three CZ types. I had a TZ-75 which used to be the Tanfoglio made FIE import. It had the shortest and lightest trigger that I've ever experienced on a DA Auto. It never failed during the short period I owned it. I also had a Witness in 45 ACP. It was a good gun too. These are both kind of low-end CZ clones and I've heard nothing bad about any of the others, such as CZ USA. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of them.

I think you will be well-armed with either gun. I'd get which felt best to me and then test it for accuracy and reliability with the loads I wanted to use.

I have two CZ rifles and they are very accurate. They actually are boring to reload for as they shoot just about anything well.........quality all round. So........I am leaning toward CZ. I will be able to hold both and compare..........won't be able to shoot.

I would say that this is about an equal choice. Which ever feels better to you, you won't be disappointed. I had a TZ75 (CZ copy) in the 70's because CZ75 could not be imported. Another that I should have never traded. A legal CZ75 with papers was worth more than a Colt Python back then.

Assuming the CZ75 had the standard safety system, I'd go with it over the Beretta. Beretta's a fine gun, but the traditional double action auto safety system sucks for a self defense weapon.

Buy the one that fits best as they're both fine guns, really a no lose deal..........the CZ feels better in my hand so that's the one I'd choose.

I have a Beretta 92FS Brigadier with INOX finish.
I'll never sell it, and think it's perfect.

Also have a CZ 85 Combat (basically a CZ 75). I almost sold it to acquire a rare Walther P-88; but got my CZ back (thankfully) as the guy hadn't paid me when promised. I'll hang on to it this time.

As to any preference between the two ... impossible to pick one over the other.

Appearence wise, the Beretta 92FS in INOX is a beautiful and classy quality hand gun- as well as dependable and acqurate.
For my hand the CZ feels right and naturally shoots straight.
But both pistols I rate "high" in every catagory.

Two excellent choices, pick the one that makes you smile the most when you pick it up and hold it.

If I was a really good pistol shot I would have kept my CZ75/40S&W.I still think it's one of the best pistols made and if I found one with the competition hammer/sear I would buy it in a heart beat.
Unfortunatly I could not hit a thing with it.

McLernon: what are you getting, a 9mm or 40 S&W?.

I had a 92FS Centurion for 15 years till I gave it to my son. Never had a FTF or FTF with any ammo. Even with crappy reloads I was given. I shot Berettas for the Air Force as well as my own. The Centurion Version balanced better in my hand with it's shorter barrel and slide. Guns America and Gun Broker have had good looking used law enforcement trade-ins for $350-$450 lately.

The CZ75 is svelte compared to the Beretta 92/96 series. Pretty gun. Good reputation. I've handled them but haven't shot any yet.

CZ. Why? All the right reasons: shootablity, reliability, ergonomics and durability. Love the condition one option too.
