Mornin' guys. I've got a new 44 mag. on the way and would like to try some hard cast wide meplat 300 grainers on deer.

Been shooting the Lyman #429421 for decades in my other 44s and it's a great bullet but it's time to try something different in something that's commercially cast.

Not tuned into what's available in this weight of bullets so I'm hoping some of you can share what works for you.

TIA, 284.
I loaded up some Cast Performance 320gr. gas check bullets with 21.5grs. of W296 powder and a CCI large magnum pistol primer. Chronographed it at 1331fps. out of my 7.5" Ruger Super Redwhawk. This was my load when I was in bear territory.
Take a look at Beartooth Bullets, they have several that are cannelured to take advantage of the extra length of the SBH cylinders. And they make an excellent bullet to boot.

I have also ran the Hornady 300 grain XTP seated to the bottom cannelure with very good results, as a matter of fact, one of my SBHs loves that bullet and shows it's best accuracy with it.

I run one of Beartooth's 300 grainers in my SuperRedhawk, but OAL is longer than the SBH can accept. I am also getting velocities in the mid-1300s, but I am using VV N110 instead of H110, which my SRH does not like as well as the VhitaVouri powder.
