Looking for a better hunting holster for my Flat Top and Bisley Rugers. Been using a cross draw Mernickle which is fine for walking and ATV use, not so great in a tree stand. Thinking a shoulder/chest rig would be more accessible and better protected. Thoughts and comments welcome. Specifically interested in the subject.
Used one for awhile now. Highly recommend it.

If you have a pancake holster already, you may be able to buy just the CP harness and snap it onto your existing holster. I use mine with two different pieces of leather. Works great.

Mernicle also makes a chest rig. I have one for my Bisley, works great.
I like mine with a 329 in a SR pancake holster. I can wear it all day long and almost forget it is there.
Here is another good one. One of my hunting partners has one and really likes it. So do I.

It's very convenient on and off, too.

Von Ringler does a nice one too.
Travis, how does this holster work while wearing bino's at the same time???

It seems that most of these holsters settle more towards the middle of the body where they would be contacting your bino's.
Thanks!

Yeah, it's a bit of a conundrum. If it sits off to the side, it will interfere with your pack and that is one area I don't want messed with. Sitting in the middle, they do get in the way of your binos.

Being in the way of my binos has never bothered me in the least, but not everybody may feel that way. There is a lot of adjustment in it though. You can get it to sit off center.

If I was not wearing a pack, I would probably opt for a standard shoulder holster, crossdraw or strong side.

I have one. The holster is top notch, it will hold the revolver snug without a strap. But I was kind of disappointed in how thin the shoulder strap was. Not rugged at all. I replaced it with a thicker leather strap.
I just became aware of this fine looking rig thanks to this forum. I plan to order one for my 5 inch 629 classic .
