I picked up one of these this weekend and shot it yesterday.... Man that is one nice gun. Shoots great, groups awesome.... and it is a 10mm in a nice size carry personal defense pistol. Now for a trigger job... Gotta love the 10mm and in a carry gun to boot. smile

I see this one hanging around for a long time

Agreed, in spades.

I traded a model 29 Glock to the man who had the litter of puppise for my now fully mature bird brain dog, Goober. He was/is an archery hunter in Elk, Cougar, Wolf and bear country. His G29 is an ideal backcountry sidearm.

I sure would hate to have one pointed at me. I am almost shocked as to how well this gun shoots. Scary accurate.

After shooting my g20 to capacity, I can't imagine less to grip. Seems like a guy would want to keep away from the stout stuff.

I actually shot my G29 better than my G20 when I was in the 10MM game. The G29 ranks right up there with the G19 and G20 in my book.
For a hiking/backpacking gun here in the Southeast it's hard to beat.
Okay, now I want another one! smile

I obviously have the grip extensions added to the mags... smile However, I am not shooting the hottest thing out there either. I am shooting 180 gr bullets around 1075 FPS but I compare it to a .45 if not a little less

closer to the 40 S&W
Posted By: high_country_ Re: Glock 29 Gen 4, 10mm - 06/10/13
I can't imagine buying a 10 to not load it to capacity. A 40 can get those numbers.

I like shooting my G20 with reduced, .40 S & W loads for practice.
and then mix in full power 10's
But the aftermarket barrel let's me shoot with more confidence. After kabooming the Glock!

Same here (though it was a friend's Model 20 I was shooting). Loaded hot it was honestly as much handgun as I care to shoot. Less grip would make it downright nasty.

Carrying and shooting are differnt things... I do not enerally plink with full power loads.

I have had many G29 and G20's they are both great and the full power stuff like buffalo bore double tap are no problem out of the G29 it handles well. A short barreled little revolver in 357 mag is much worse.

I have a 23 gen 4 and I could NOT BE MORE PLEASED with a pistol. It is boringly accurate, reliable etc etc. I want to get a 10mm next on the list

After kabooming my G20 10mm with a 220gr Double Tap load, did the minor repairs and removed the Lone Wolf 6" barrel and put the stock 4.6" (?) Glock barrel in. The DT and also Buffalo Bore ammo would NOT feed in the LW barrel, but fed well with the Glock barrel (although I did not shoot them in it). I have since returned the LW barrel and replaced it with a Glock 6" "Hunter" barrel, also added a SS guide rod and 22# recoil spring. Shoots great with factory 170 and 180 gr loads, very accurate. It also feeds the DT and BB loads well - manually. May try shooting the "Heavy" 10mm loads with this barrel, after I shoot it enough to feel confident doing that. Goal is to load 200gr JHPs at around 1200 fps as my "go-to" hog hunting load, but I would not mind the heaver bullets.
