For reference, here's one from the most recent run of Compacts.

I imagine you have an earlier iteration.

Yes I do I guess its time to update

Sounds like yours is one of the ones made in the mid to late '80's. I don't know why you feel a need to upgrade, those were good pistols. But don't let me get in the way of buying a new gun.

The Beretta 92SB series pistols (including compact models) were discontinued in 1985.

The 23rd edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values states that the 92SB Compact variation - "is rarer when frontstrap has curved lip."
I have seen 92SB Compact pistols selling on line for some pretty good prices recently.

I have a 92SB Compact M (single stack mag) which I will never sell. The 92SB models are all of Italian mfg.
I like the older round trigger guard on these pistols than the newer squared military style,
especially on the compact models ... and everything else about them for that matter.

You got a Keeper!

CDNN SPORTS: on-line, sells new original factory grips for Beretta 92SB pistols -

Beretta 92SB Compact - Synthetic Checkered Grips, New Factory $9.99
Beretta 92SB Compact - Wood Checkered Grips, with Medallion, New Factory $29.99

I bought the Wooden Grips (which I always liked and wanted) for my 92SB Compact M (single stack mag) -
and they also increase the listed value of the pistol.

I have no experience with the Compact model. I can vouch for the Centurion in both 9mm and 40 S&W.
