Any opinions on these. Thinking of picking up 2 of these for the wife and myself.

Great guns, doesnt get much better for concealment....never a failure of any kind

Only downside is the sights, but its not a long range gun

yup, I like the sites on the LC380 better but its not as concealable. thanks for the input

A great pocket gun. I had one and had no malfunctions after about 300 rounds. A little small for my hands, but the larger mag base helped. The only reason I got rid of it was that I wanted something a bit more powerful.

In 2013 Ruger made some changes to the LCP which were certainly improvements over the original.

They shortened the trigger pull, but kept the weight.

They also raised the sights so that you can actually see them.

The way you can tell that you have the 2013 model is that the serial number will not have any dashes in it. Just a straight series of numbers.

The LCP is the only gun I have that is not fun to shoot. It is handy and serves a purpose. Hasbeen

Why's it not fun?
Posted By: hasbeen1945 Re: Ruger LCP - 03/18/14
It's like a fire cracker going off in my hand. To small for my hands. Hasbeen

gotcha, I don't have a big hand, I can see if a person has a large hand how that gun might feel "lost" in ones hand

I've had one for a number of years, no problems, very looooong trigger pull, put a laser sight on it and got a mag. extenion for my big hands.

Is that mag ext factory. Hasbeen
Posted By: 1tnhunter Re: Ruger LCP - 03/18/14
I was told its got a long trigger pull due to fact it don't have a safety.

How many rounds does that clip hold?
Posted By: jbmi Re: Ruger LCP - 03/18/14
After market extension, no additional rounds. Extension clips to the bottom of the factory mag.

Mine failed to eject when I first got it. But after a trip back to Ruger, it's been flawless. It goes with me in a pocket holster everywhere I go, other than work.

Why is it not fun to shoot?

Because its a self defense gun, not a range gun. It's first priority is NOT comfort. When it, and the LCR, came out we sold a lot of them but some came back a few weeks later because some of guys (first gun owners) bought them on price, took them to the range and to have fun shooting all day. Naturally they came back with sore hands blaming the gun and Ruger.

Mine works flawlessly. I'd recommend it it to anyone wanting a small light pocket pistol.

Oh, and they work well on Coyotes! Just ask Gov. Rick Perry of TX. Ruger even did a special run for him.

Yep. Not fun to shoot.

I put a couple of boxes of ammo through it when I first got it.

After that, I'd shoot a couple of magazines every so often just to keep it familiar.

Ok got the point that its carried for self defense, that's exactly what I want it for!

Now another question: whats easier to carry/conceal the LCP or LCR?? I know the 38 is more powerful than the 380 but what is easier, more pleasant to carry?

The LCP looks like a pack of cigarettes in your shirt pocket, try that with an LCR.

I've got an LCP, it's what I carry when I can't carry a real gun.
