In honor of our fallen brethren from south of the border, I think it fitting to name this one "La Migra"! Haha.

Got this one today. Bowen had it for 3 months......said he had a cancellation and put this one "in the breach". 5-shot 45 Colt Bisley Vaquero. This is the Longhunter version in the "Light-weight" style (scallop receiver/loading gate, black powder chamfer/flute cylinder), but with a 4-3/4" barrel. Color-case frame and hammer. I requested the dovetailed/serrated front sight.

Grips are Grashorn Sheep horn that I had requested Patrick contact me when he got in some material......and he did!

Can't wait to shoot it. I will be teeing up another Bisley Vaquero to send to Bowen to become a 500 Linebaugh in the same pattern.

ETA: Sorry....I know the Keystone Light is in bad taste, considering the theme....but I didn't have any Mexican beer in the fridge.
You REALLY Suck ! I'm green with envy! Nice as any 5 shooter I've seen!

I've got one very similar that he built me off of old model Vaquero, also.
Mine he turned into a 3" Sherriffs Model, that he installed a S&W J-frame rear adjustable sight on and a Bowen Front Sight. Wished I had added the Bisley Grip Frame & Bisely Hammer like you did. Beautiful grips also! If you ever decide you don't like yours, give me a shout. I could find room for it in my safe in a heart beat! cool
Wow, just wow!!!! You do suck smile Absolutely beautiful. Bet she's a shooter too. Bowen is the man and I cant wait to hear a range report my friend!!!!
Beautiful handgun. Of course I haven't seen you post one yet that I wouldn't love to call mine. Your taste is without question.............except in beverages. shocked

That beauty deserves to share a coffee table with two fingers of single malt. Keystone Light can cozy up to someone's Hi-Point.
I am green with envy. I could stand it the garden and would never be seen. That is beautiful.
That is one beautiful revolver. Thank you for sharing
That is a sweet unit.

Been thinking I need to save my moolah for one really nice wheel gun. Been debating between a FA or a Bowen.

I REALLY love the look of the Bowen Nimrod. Probably what I would go for. Thought of a .475 Linebaugh to go with a Ruger No. 1 in the same, but would probably just stick with the .45 Colt. Not much that can't be done with a stout Colt...

You wont go wrong with either of those choices. Definitely wont go wrong with the 45 colt!
That's as cool as it gets.....what a classic piece!!

Well, now, that is mighty pretty.

Nimrod is the gato's burro (cat's azz)!

All Bowen, clockwise from left:

Subject 5-shot 45 Colt "La Migra"!
5-shot Lightweight Longhunter 480 Ruger
6-shot Longhunter 44 Mag w/Fishpaw Walnut
Nimrod 500 Linebaugh w/Grashorn stag

ETA: Apologies for the Gringo in the fray. He thinks he's case-colored. What he don't know.......won't hurt him!

Will do. I figure I'll spend more than a few years trying to break it! Haha. Post up some pics of your Bowen Sheriff's model!

257,
All those pictured are handguns to be proud to own, as I am sure you are.

Beautiful revolver!
VERY NICE!!!!

I have thought about doing a 6 shot .41 Magnum just like that...

Bob
Real nice 5 shot you've got there, I've got a real sweet spot for big bore single actions.
Keystone is for the reservation, and broke college kids... Not guy with $100,000 worth of handguns!

whistle

That's my lawnmowing beer, dammit! $19.99 for a 30 pack! What's not to like?

I do indulge every once in a while. Ok. I indulge all the time. But you should see me heading out to the deer stand with my Mescan cooler (plastic bag with ice and a 6 pack of afore-mentioned cheap beer in it). Makes you proud to share a forum with me........huh?

Come over to Texas some time and I'll show you how it's done. LOL.

Just a TERRIFIC concept and execution of a very practical and useful handgun.

I had never thought of scalloping the frame and loading gate for an easier to carry Single Action.

Do you mind if I ask how much it weighs? When I go back to work someday (hopefully) maybe such a piece will replace my 329PD as my woods walking/stream fishing in bear country gun.

Thanks for sharing it, handgun porn at its epoch.

Mowed them both in 1-1/2 hrs last night. That included loading and unloading mower. Not too bad. But was weed eating in the dark at 9:30.

My bet is that it's about the same as a factory gun.

257heaven just uses the cooler to carry his beer. he don't care bout keepin it cool. he's been drinkin pickup temperature beer since he was 8. he calls it 'al tiempo' which he claims means temperature of its surroundings. i don't think his tex-mex is all that good tho.

even if he dint like warm beer, i still wudn't feel sorry for a man with two mansions
Only problem with the beer and the riding mower is when it's sitting in the cupholder it gets sloshed around too much and goes flat. So I have to drink it fast. My batteries don't last long because I'm always stopping to get another can out of the house. I need to refine the process, no doubt. My daughter is on a pretty good future problem solvers team, so I need to present this problem to them and see what they come up with.
I'll fetch you beers all summer for your rra 1911's.
Signed up just because of this revolver, it's a beaut!

Welcome.
Nice gun!
