Came home with me today. After I figured out how to strip, clean, and oil it, shoots pretty good. Shot a mag full just to see how it works. I'm gonna like it.

This is Kimber 1911 #2 for me, first was about 12 years ago, a Custom Shop Gold Combat Stainless II. I've never had a problem with it. Hopefully this one will be as trouble free.

I have a set of grips coming for it, although after shooting it with these, I doonoo, I like them pretty good.

Ok, now it's time for all you Kimber haters to show up.
Snagged a SC Ultra+ yesterday (should come tomorrow) to go with my Raptor Pro.

I'm hoping the shorter bbl makes for some more comfy IWB situations...

Congratulations, I hope you like it as much as I have mine.

Give us a report when you get ahold of it.

I didn't get this one to carry, just for a, I don't know, fun gun. I enjoy fooling around an shooting the 1911. I have a PCR to carry. Alloy, lighter weight, smaller, shorter, and I put some slim grips on it. Still holds 14 or 15 and I like it being a double action...for carry.

Thanks for posting, I like those grips, especially on that pistol, what are they?

I ordered some Antique Camel Bone? Waiting for them to show up.

If you are talking about the Kimber ProCarry HD in .38 Super I had one...would not function at all. A friend wanted it to work on it and he could not make it work either.

He ended up sending it back to Kimber and they found that the interior machining of the slide was not to spec so the slide was not able to cycle all the was to the rear of the stroke and as a result not picking up the round properly. I can not remember if they sent it back with a new slide or a whole new gun.

The one thing I didn't like about the gun was the balance. With the bull barrel it seemed muzzle heavy compared to a Colt Combat Commander.

I have a Kimber Stainless Target II GM size gun and it is the one I recommend people buy who are looking to get into .38 Super...about perfect right out of the box...so I am no Kimber basher...

Got a Kimber Gold Combat at home, no issues to speak of though I did swap out the recoil rod for a standard government setup. Just like the ease of takedown.

I believe we are discussing different models. Mine is a 45acp.

I do like the balance of this one.

You know, for my BBQ gun I chose elephant ivory, but I think stag would have been the better choice, it just always looks so damn good.

Looks good, I like those grips.

Rosewood?

I picked some white box ammo during lunch and will head to the range tomorrow.

A trip to the range. 100 rounds of WW 130FMJ.

Accuracy was good. I did have a number of FTF. These occurred in the 2 and 3rd out of the mag. Easy to clear, just pull back the slide and let it go and the offending rounds would chamber.

I used 4 different manufacturers mags. Ruger, Wilson Combat, Kimpro Tac, and a A Bullet or some such.

Surprisingly the mags that malfunctioned were the Bullet and Wilson Combat, the Ruger and Kimpro functioned flawlessly.

I have heard/read the 4 inch Kimbers benefit from the XP wolf spring,I have one on the way. We'll see.

All in all very pleased, just need to get it worked out.

Another trip to the range, the C A Bullet mags functioned flawlessly in the 5" Kimber but lots of FTF in the 4" Kimber.

The 4" functioned flawlessly with the other (Ruger and KimPro) mags, I did not try the Wilson Combat.

Well, the new spring did not solve the issue with the mags. Interestingly, shots fired from those mags had very erratic ejection in where the casings were thrown.

No problem with the other mags.

Kimber Super Carry Pro with the new grips.

I was pleased with the accuracy at 10yds. Was shooting as quickly as I acquired the target (blank paper).

I did notice I am consistently pulling the first shot low. Don't know what that is about unless I am noticing on the next target acquisition and bearing down.

Over all very pleased with the pistol. Talked to the seller, gunsmith and Kimber dealer, he is going to slick it up for me. I'll also have him check the ejector.

That's the one I would be getting if I had to have a Kimber. Recently, though, I've been on a wheel gun kick....

Nice pistols, guys....
