Have always heared how accurate they was and found it at a good deal and been wanting something to through in the feedtruck and not worry about so here it is. But i have looked all over it and cant find a model number anywhere on it, hope someone can tell me what it is.

When i picked it up the front sight was broken but found one for $13 and got it sighted in with 158gr lrn 38spl cause its not near as loud as magnum loads. Here is the last 3 shots at 35yds without a rest.

A model 15 I believe.

I've had several mostly in .22...they are great shooters. DW just brought out a stainless .357 Magnum again...

There is an 8 inch 357 without the underlug laying on the shelf at my LGS. I keep hoping someone will buy it, because it haunts me. I've got a feeling it will shoot about like a sniper rifle.

15-2VH, IIRC - the VH denoting Vent rib, heavy barrel.

Your Dan Wesson 15-2 is also manufactured in Monson Mass. which many consider more
desirable than those later manufactured in Palmer Mass, and then in Norwich, New York.

I also have a D.W. 'Monson' Model 15-2, 357 Mag. - And the last thing I would do with it
is 'throw it in a feed truck and not worry about it!' - D.W.'s are my favorite DA revolvers.

It stays in a padded case in the console when not in use, but it did hammer a skunk yesterday at 40 yds, its a keeper for sure

Buy a Taurus to throw in the truck, and treat the DW better. Those are getting harder to come by.

Great, accurate revolvers. I have 3; a model 40 357 SM, a 715 6" VH 357 mag, and a 6" .22 with an extra 8" barrel. I never see me selling any of them. You made a good purchase.

Great, super gun when made right but they had problems at on time. Owner changes, etc. Fantastic design but never fool with employees.
I wish they would bring back all the guns today.

CZ keeps threatening to bring them back, but it's been hollow threats thus far. Hell they could make a good penny if they just made the barrels and shrouds. I'd take a barrel and shroud to put on an L frame S&W in a New York minute.

I can hardly bear to look at or talk about Dan Wesson revolvers, given the trade I stupidly turned down about 7 yrs ago. .357 with 6" and 8" barrels, in box.

The owner then turned around and traded it back to original owner for a Caspian.

A guy I used to work with had a Negligent Discharge with his. Scared him so bad he GAVE me the gun. I offered him money. He wouldn't take it.

Friend has a DW 1911. I shot 7 shots into 1/2" at 50 yards, Creedmore with it. NEVER have I done that even with one I built up, did at 30 yards but never 50.
He is the worst loader I ever seen and never ever made the same loads he had when I shot. It will never be done again. But it showed how great a DW can be. I want the gun bad but he will not sell it. I would never find his luck load either, he never writes anything down.

I've got a couple of DW's, one a .32 Mag, the other, a 1911 Patriot.

Haven't shot the .32 enough, but the 1911 shoots better than any other 1911 I've ever shot.

They're keepers for sure.

tex-n-cal, not only did they make .44 Mags, they also made .414 and .445 Super Mags. I always wanted a .414 SM but never got around to finding one.

I spoke to CZ last week, as I need some work done on my 15. They said that they had parts on hand to repair ALL DW revolvers. I can't say it for a fact, but there was a time where you couldn't really get anything except what was left of the old stock and much of that was gone. Maybe between the new 715 and the previous .445 they where selling, that covers all the bases as far as internals go. Maybe they have plans to produce more revolvers...I sure hope so.

I'd love to get my little greedy's inside one of the new 715's to see how well the internals are made. In the past I haven't been too impressed with DW revolver internals. The design is just fine, and the metal quality of their castings seems adequate because it's exceedingly rare to find one with a broken internal part. But the internals just weren't always pretty, which always bothered me. I'm dying to know which process CZ went with. Did they just re-use the old investment casting molds, did the create new investment casting molds, or did they pony up the big bucks for MIM internals. Inquiring minds want to know.

Three shots DA standing barricade at 50 yards w Rem125 SJHP Hot/Nasty couple weekends back. This is a VH 2.5 my brother bought in late '70s. He gave it to my son several years back and my boy decided to trade it to me for my G29 recently. Now in my CID ride to repel Flash Mobs.

I am hoping that they will bring back the whole line of the DA revolvers in .22, .327, .357, .41 and .44...and why not a .45 Colt. I think that since S&W's quality and design has so slipped over the last 10 years they could really take a bite out of Smith's business.

I had one of those, just like the OP, in 6" it was the most accurate revolver for slow, aimed shooting, I've ever had. Mine liked the classic Lyman 358156 bullet, either very slow, or very fast. It didn't like mid-range loads, at all. WW296 was better than 2400 for heavy loads, and little bits of Bullseye for light loads. The weirdest thing of all was that it shot best with that
gascheck base without the gascheck, at any velocity. I took a pan-sized muley buck with it, several coyotes, and lots of small stuff. Nice gun.

I sold a 715-VH6 with scope that I bought in the 80's.

Was a good gun, I have heard they developed timing issues, but mine never did.
