I'd prefer a .380, but these are hard to beat as far as being a slim, elegant gun that easily slips into the pocket...
If they make a 1908 variant in 9x19, I will own one.

For a street price of $1k, though, you can get two original shooter grade Colts.
I think they are one of the 'sexiest' autos alive...
Too Cool Old School!
i was at an auction last year, one of these popped up in the box. Originally made for WWII, british markings on it. Popular among the spy services. It went as i remember for about 2300 bucks.

Totally agree with that.
Too bad Colt's not smart enough to make it in .380 !!!
I'd buy one in .380 in a heart beat! A nickle plated model would even be cooler!
I read that and said to myself,"gotta get one", until I saw the price tag. I've got a buddy who has offered me his NIB original for less than that MSRP. I'll buy his at those kind of prices.
It is a great Colt pistol to resurrect, and in it's original caliber.
If I had the money I would surely buy the custom model in royal blue and nickel Pearl.

I'd also buy an original old 1903 Colt 32 just to shoot - to justify myself for not 'spoiling' -
The New Reigning Queen of my gun safe!

An older one, something like this . . .

It would be a sin not to shoot it!
Well, I purchased a COLT - MODEL Of 1911 - WWI reproduction some years ago, 1 of 4000 manufactured, and beautifully Carbonia blued.
It was my first 1911 and I have never fired it. Instead, I bought a barely used Springfield, 1911 A1 GI, 45 ACP pistol to shoot in it's place -
While the value of the COLT only appreciates.

Not the same but you may like this in .380/9mm Kurz:

I agree. One in .380 ACP would be the bee's knees.

I've always wanted one of those. Tuck into a drawer somewhere and have it handily slip into a jacket pocket.

Wait a minute! I DO HAVE ONE OF THOSE! HA HA! grin

I'd want to look at one of the blued models. The parkerized finish doesn't say film noir to me.

When I worked for Dallas PD one of my partner's father had been a Major General in the Army. He had died at the age of 75 in 1970 and my partner had his General Officers Model 1903, belt and holster...

Just because Leroy Brown never carried a 380 for fun....

When you see a nice one, they bring to mind the old saying, "handcrafted fit and finish".

They certainly don't look out of place on a nightstand, next to a fine watch, or jewelry. Yet for the times, they were still a very functional and useable pistol.
I'll keep my Govt Model 380. It fits better in my hand than my Colt Mustang. It's my daily carry.
