I want a bigger pistol to play with. I like DA/SA capabilities, as well as a hammer. The taller night sights are nice and I like the fact that its equipped for easy installation of a reflex sight. The 15 round mags are a big plus and the threaded barrel is a must for suppressor use. It's big, but I'm not planning for it to be a concealed carry gun...
I owned a FNX-9 and liked it. It was reliable and target acquisition was superb on follow up shots.
For those of you that have owned one or shot one, please share your thoughts. They're not cheap and I'd hate to want to throw it in a ditch after a week...
How much are they?
I've been thinking about a "turnkey" suppressor ready pistol myself. My local shop usually has a lot of the standard models.

Just a tad under a grand...
I bought the FDE model last year. Currently have 1500 rounds through it, and mostly been shooting Berry's 230gr FMJs. The FNX comes from the factory with a really beefy spring and it doesn't like weak loads at all. I found that shooting +p rounds is where it's at with mine.
However, I do have to send mine back to FN here eventually. My magazines stick and don't drop free, whether loaded or empty. I hit the release and they fall out like half way and then hold up. I was hoping breaking it in and shooting it a bunch would fix it but no such luck.

I'm out...

I had one quite a while, and I really liked it. It was accurate and reliable, but was just too big, for a toting gun, so I went with a Glock Longslide in .40 S&W.
If I was considering something similar, I would personally go with the Glock 41 in 45acp.

Thanks Kevin. That G19 is pretty close but I'd need a .40 or 45.

I can get the CZ for less than $400 and we have it on the shelf, but I want something bigger than a 9 for this one too...
It's really not bad when you consider the extra tall tritiums, optics ready, threaded, and all.
But like you I'd like to hear of some experiences.

To Hell with it, I'm taking one home today!
I hope it works awesome and you hate it.
Could save me some coin.

Have you guys looked at an OST red dot Glock? A G21 with an RMR milled in is a pretty nice package, if your hands fit it.
I hadn't seen those. I have an M&P CORE. Has the tall sights but it lacks tritiums and a threaded barrel.
I will probably end up having tritiums added and getting a threaded barrel for it and just move forward with Project John Wick.

The V-Tac would be the ticket if they had the plate for the red dot.

A new sig line in order yet?
Uh, no. Have you shot up all my ammo while I'm at your granddaughters softball game?
I have shot enough of it to say it is an easy shooting handgun. Easy to hit the target offhand at 25 to 30 yards. A fun to shoot 45 for sure. No malfunctions so far. We'll have to move the gong out to 50 yds. tomorrow and see how it goes. So far, I'm impressed.
Yup, they are really easy to shoot. For as big as the pistol is, it's pretty comfortable. Doesn't lack in the accuracy department either.

I hear you. For suppressors, the smaller the bullet diameter, the more effective the suppressor is. So that's why you see so many suppressed 9mm's. Pair it up with a good sub-sonic 147 load and you have a good suppressor pistol.
By Monday, I plan to be a few hundred rounds into the gun. I'll have a better opinion by then. The FNX-9 I had before was a real shooter.
It shoots better than I can. 15 rounds, standing resting over a sandbag on a post -- 15 yards. I think I'll like it!
There was 1 for sale locall last week for 1k with 6 mags and a trijicon RMR. I should have bought it as i miss my FNP i had prior

Mine basically does the same thing. They are good shooting pistols.
