Ok i finally had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrist.I do alot of jack hammering for my job i was thinking probably would be a good idea to get a good pair of shooting gloves.I normally hunt a bisley 475 linebaugh or a srh 500 linebaugh.Have thought about using a 41 rh but still want some protection

What are you guys using and what would you recomend??

PAST makes a rubber lined glove, that gives a bit of padding. The fingertips are open so you can still handle small objects effectively.

I generally use mine for anything over full power .44 mags.

I have a set of ProAim gloves I am partial to.

In a similar situation I selected two pairs of Handball gloves (in storage for many years), with and without padding. To mitigate severe recoil from FA 83 475 Linebaugh, padded handball glove on my "holding" hand did several things, all good.
1. Felt recoil became manageable.
2. Grip sensitivity remain good.
3. Physical control of my grip improved because of "stickiness" of glove.
4. Materials used to make glove were designed for durability and longevity for people who are sweating gallons on a regular basis. Gloves are pretty much indestructible when used only for shooting.

The unlined gloves did an even better job, with enhanced sensitivity when used with handguns having less severe recoil.

Long ago when I bought them for Handball, I paid little attention to brand name for either pair. I erroneously thought I would choose one of the two pairs to be "my" handball gloves, wear them out, then buy that [padded or not padded] type of glove that the experts where I played choose for themselves. Since several of the TOP TEN players in the USA played where I did, I think final selection method would have been a good one. I did not anticipate the gloves wouldn't wear out.

I did play three games against #4 in USA at the time, Dr. Stan London, who was also team physician for the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team. Result? 21-0, 21-0, 21-0. I was nearly unconscious from excessive effort. Stan still had his warm-up shirt on.

Same here... Definitely needed when I use the Alaskan and .454C ammo...

I have a pair of the Pro Aim gloves with open fingers I bought after Max recommended them in his book. I like them, and they do a good job. I have also used them for driving gloves, wish I'd known about them before my Carpal Tunnel surgery.

Sounds like something I'm gonna have to try. My wrists aren't what they used to be when shooting heavier recoiling 44 mags and 45 Colt.
