Apparently the new 10mm Glock 40 is out... Saw one at a local shop last week and asked to handle it...man is that thing BIG.

Have been thinking about one of these as a "car gun", not to carry on me but in something like a Wilderness SafePacker to be used more like a short range rifle instead of one of those bulky AR15 or AK47 pistols when one needs a little "extra" against a fool in a car...

Thoughts...

I'll own one as soon as my LGS gets one in. I'm not paying the scalper prices they are going far on GunBroker, right now.
Mine will probably become my "designated" Truck Gun.
I'll probably keep using my old Gen 3 Model 20 as my packing gun in Bow Season. Just hope the new model is as accurate as my Model 20. Mines a tack driver!
Plan on waiting a while and letting someone else work the bugs out, if there are any. I'm always leery of new stuff when it first hits the market. Even Glock is not immune from teething problems.

I do want one something fierce though. I handled a Glock 24 once and imagine the G40 will feel just as nice, if not better, in the hand. With a red dot mounted it should fill the roll of a hand held rifle fairly well I should think.
Glock was about 2 months behind on their initial release of the Pistol, so it does kinda make you wonder if their were problems, or just production delays.
I'm sure they are cranking out all the Glock 43's in 9mm they can make!
I picked up one of the G34's a couple years ago, but it proved no more accurate than the service model I owned & sold 25 years ago. I hope the 40 works well for people but I think I'll stick to single stack 10's...the ones with metal frames, too. smirk
The GLOCK epiphany . . .

The store I was in had them for $699.99. Wholesale on the gun is $620 last I looked.

tex...I hear ya...I have been thinking about just buying a 6" slide and barrel from Fusion and putting it on my Super Elite frame...but I do like the extra six rounds of the Glock and the ease of putting the TruGlo TFX tritium FO sights on...

Spendy, but...

That is putting it mildly. Glock is known for using their customers to work out quality control issues...much less expensive than doing it in house.

I'm a Glock fan boy...and sometimes the truth hurts.
Have been looking at this one..reasonably priced...
